I don’t know how much she costs, but my friend had Patricia from “A Heavenly Ceremony” at her wedding and I thought she did a really lovely job.

Or, you could always go the route of having a friend get ordained!

We have a friend who got ordained on the internet and he is marrying us! If you have someone that is close to both of you it may be worth looking into, it’s such a personal factor in our wedding…i can’t wait!

I attended a wedding where the bride and groom did the ordained friend thing and, I must say, it was kind of a disaster. He was reading off of a sheet of loose leaf paper and was so nervous that the paper was shaking like crazy. He lost his place at least 4 times and it was a 10 minute ceremony. I don’t want to scare anyone, but at least make sure that you do a rehearsal or two with them beforehand to work out any kinks.

I agree with the idea of getting a friend or family member to marry you! Definitely more memorable than some random officiant that you barely know. My 2 best friends both did this, one was a grandfather and one was a friend. Both ceremonies went very well. Definitely do a rehearsal, and make sure you carefully go over the words they are supposed to say.

We’re having a personal friend marry us too, but part of the reason we thought of her was that she was already ordained and has done another wedding! We’ll be working with her to completely create our entire ceremony. Just make sure you pick someone who is poised, is a good speaker, and who you know will want to help write it and practice it!

Yes! I have a suggestion. Our officiant was GREAT. We loved her. So good that our freinds are using her this year for thier wedding. She was also reasonably priced at $250.

If you’re looking for a wedding officiant / celebrant who will work with you to really create a custom ceremony, Annemarie is worth it.  Her range is so large because she does a variety of weddings – if you haven’t you may want to contact her for a quote.

I strongly feel you get what you pay for – if you want a $250 officiant, you may have to write the wedding ceremony yoursevles, or get a cookie cutter ceremony that they just pop your name into.  If that is what you are looking for, that’s OK, but a custom wedding ceremony is really worth it.  And Annemarie is awesome.

Just wanted to add that our officiant was amazing. We did not have to write our own ceremony and it was far from cookie cutter. She met with us and took things about us and included them in the ceremony. We had total involvement with our ceremony and exactly what we did and did not want. I cannot recomend her highly enough

She is lower priced I think because this is not her “job”. She had a day job and does this on the side for fun because she likes it. She was WONDERFUL and certainly not the low-budget-option

You do at times get what you pay for….but in this case you cannot judge a book by it’s cover. Also…..much more than $250 for a 15min ceremony is more than I would have been willing to pay

We are using Rev David Cooper. Fees run $250-$300 and he has been SUPER! He has a wonderful package of ceremonies, a ‘ladder’ explaining the pieces and parts of ceremonies and lets you create your own- or he will do it for you. As little or as much as you want.

Tell him you heard about him from his July Nashville bride 🙂

We are using Reverend Ray! His fee just increased to $300 (we paid $250 because we booked last year) but he is amazing. He has an entire book of ceremony things to choose from, but you can use as much or as little of his material as you want. We chose to write our own vows, but we are choosing the rest of the ceremony with the material Rev. Ray provided us to look at. He is a wonderful and sweet man and I have heard so many great things about him!  http://www.reverendray.com/Site_2/Welcome.html
