Hello, did you get your officient a gift? Ours is a family friend. He was actually my FI’s youth minister who played a good role in my FI’s life growing up. Fiance says that he wont charge us to officiate the ceremony, so I’m thinking we need to get him a gift? Right? Any ideas as to what? He is a christian pastor, I would say mid 50’s maybe a little older than that.

you should at least give me a donation if he isn’t charging you but a gift would be nice if you know him personally. We don’t know our officiant won’t even meet him until the day of the wedding so we’re just paying him his fee.

Yeah, I mean we will do that either a donation or gift…I just wanted ideas about what gifts if we did decide the gift route.

Our officiant is a friend of ours so we’re getting him a $50 gift certificate, his favorite bottle of liquor and a mustache/beard trimming set (the last is kind of a joke gift, he loves to have crazy facial hair) Plus my parents are paying for his hotel room and travel expenses to the wedding since he’s crashing with my brother (they’re best friends)
