I actually ran across this video from a friend on facebook, and I think it’s pretty interesting and relevant to those who just aren’t certain about whether they want to get a “knockoff” so to speak.

I can agree with a lot of the points she made. As far as formal wear goes, and wedding gowns in particular, I could never buy a knockoff. Number one- I can tell the difference in material, fit and construction when I see knock offs in the prom industry (which I work in) so I know I would be very unhappy with the purchase of an offshore gown. Number two- I have seen the blood, sweat and tears that have gone into some of the designs, and would hate to buy it from someone who just took a picture to a factory to get it produced. Madeline Gardner for Mori Lee in particular- She is nice and works her ass off, and I would just feel so guilty to take her design and get it made somewhere else! I am sure most other bridal designers feel the same way about their work.
