just had to tell someone about this. my aunt lives pretty far away from me and she’s desperately trying to be as big a part of the planning process as she can. I love her, but man does she get down to the details quickly.
so, my aunt took her daughter, my junior bridesmaid, to davids bridal to try on her dress and shoes. I’m putting together invitations with my mom and Future Mother-In-Law. then I received an incredibly panicked phone call.
“The shoes… I just… I just don’t know. The strap keeps falling off the back of her heel and she can hardly walk in them. I’m afraid she won’t even make it down the aisle. They’re just.. I think they’re her size, I’m just so worried about her.”
really? that’s how drastic we’re going to be here? a dramatic fall down the aisle because of a shoe strap?….. does she expect me to change the shoe for every girl?
yes. yes she did.
and you know what? I changed the freaking shoe. because they’re shoes, not diamonds, and I’m going to pick my battles in this glorious wedding planning experience.
