Would people really laugh at someone wearing white?  Unless she is also wearing a veil and clutching a bunch of flowers i doubt it

@eloping:  they may not necessarily laugh but they may comment in a negative fashion. I know that some people don’t mind what other people wear but normal convention states that the only person who should be in white or white like color on the wedding day is the bride unless the bride states otherwise and oftentimes even if the bride doesn’t have a problem with it other attendants will have something to say. Knowing all of this it continues to baffle me when people try to push/test their boundaries when it comes to color and their wedding day attire.

@j_jaye:  I agree with you. And, who cares what other people think. It’s YOUR wedding. If you don’t mind that your Future Mother-In-Law wears white, who cares what other people think?!

My Mother-In-Law AND Step Mother-In-Law both wore white but I don’t THINK they meant anything by it.

I can’t believe this is still an issue and that people would actually laugh about it… firstly everyone attending the wedding knows who the bride is. It’s not a secret. Second, there are people so rude that they’d laugh at a person wearing white at a wedding? Wow… not people I’d want at my wedding. Being old fashioned is no excuse for being rude.
