I think it’s different for everyone. While a lot of people think they know what they want all their lives (i.e. venue, colors), when it comes down to actually planning, it’s easy to change your mind.  For example, my favorite colors are teal and fuscia.  I always assumed at least one of these colors would be part of my wedding.  But when I started planning my June wedding, I decided I liked a more summery palate of yellow and light green.

I think it’s also easy to flip flop on decisions when you have a long engagement.  You know you have a long time, so it’s easier to put of final decisions.  At some point though, after some decisions have been set in stone, you just have to make a decision and stick with it.  For example if you already have Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses in one color, you can’t exactly change your color palate!

Its a very confusing time becasue you want everything to look right and be right. Its normal.

I changed my mind about the color/scheme 3 times–once I had even started buying a whole bunch of decor and then I changed my mind and I had to take it all back and start over, I changed my mind about the venue twice, changed my mind about the date 3 times, bought things that I changed my mind about and couldn’t return…

In the final month I finally had to limit myself from looking at WB too much because I kept seeing all these great ideas and I just didn’t have anymore time to change my mind or to take on new projects. I loved my decor and theme but if I could go back and change it I would. Probably about 5 more times.

I haven’t really changed my mind much – when you think about it, it’s going to be wonderful no matter what.  Save yourself some stress and go with your gut and your budget, and you’ll be happy in the end!  Not changing details is a conscious choice.

Oh lovehim…we are in the same boat. I have not set a date yet..I have struggled with guest size, the budget, church wedding? outdoor wedding?

I got engaged in May and have no plans set, yet I want to get married next year. I am probably the most indecisive person you will ever meet…EVER!

Don’t worry, I was still changing my mind on things a week before the wedding, I hate being so indecisive!
