So, I figured since sometimes I’m, err, not “regular” I need to get more fiber in my diet.
I attempted this fiber drink my mom and brother love and just swear by- but it was totally vile. Looked like sawdust, had a grainy and ultra pulpy texture, and while you’re standing there trying to psych yourself up to just get it over with, it becomes super thick and sludgy. Also, it tastes like crap. Euughh.
So, I think I’m just going to stick with fruits and veggies, Kashi, and Benefiber and make sure I’m getting enough.
How do you make sure you’re getting all the fiber you need?

FiberOne bars are awesome!!
And yogurt. I eat a lot of yogurt.
Fruits and veggies also help a lot. I’ve noticed that fruits help more than veggies.
My biggest thing is not stressing it. This is probably Too Much Information, but honestly, I used to only go once every 3-5 days if I was lucky. I felt horrible! When I realized this is just how my body works, something happened and now if I don’t go everyday at least once it’s a rare day. I guess stressing myself out about it was making it hard for my body to do what it needs to do.
P.S. I’d pass on the sawdust drink, too. Eww.

I agree about FiberOne bars (yummy!), though they do have a lot of sugar in them so they’re hard to eat regularly.
You can now buy Splenda with Fiber, so I use a couple of those packs a day in tea and things like that. Every little bit helps.

My doctor put me on Citrucel. It’s the least gassy kind and it tastes like a mild orange flavoring…doesn’t bother me NEAR as bad as the other stuff i’ve tried. This is actually pleasant.
I’m on 30 grams of fiber a day…i need to drink the supplements! there is NO way i can get it all via food!

I’ve tried a lot of things. Activia, fiber gummies, more fruit, fiber cereals, and psyllium pills. Oddly enough I think the fiber gummies have worked the best for me.

Oatmeal…they even make oatmeal with high fiber (10g) in it too. Kiwis, berries and bananas are also tasty fiber options. just be sure to increase your fiber slowly or else you can get gassy.
eta – yea the fiber one bars taste like candy! they are good.

I second the fiber one bars! Also Orowheat makes a bread called double fiber. So if you are going to have a sandwich or toast use that bread, it is actually really good!
