Just be yourself, do the best job you can, and thank them for the opportunity! Growth is always a good thing- if you hate it, it will look GREAT on your resume (assuming you get it).

That is a great opportunity!  It is normal to be nervous about these things, but just remember – you were recommended for this position!  That means there are people who absolutely think you can do this job and do it well!  You will get a pay raise and get to take on more responsibility.  In my experience, more responsibility is a good thing – it allows you develop new skills, learn better time management, and gain confidence in yourself and your new abilities.  You will do great!  Take a few deep breaths and stop worrying!  Maybe if you plan out your outfit and pack your lunch tonight, you will be able to have a calm morning and not feel panicked.  Good luck ๐Ÿ™‚

DO IT. You never know how it’ll work. You don’t want to be stuck. That’s the worst thing you can do =-]. Move forward!!!

Everything worth having in life is worth being scared about having. Famous last words by yours truly.

And as someone who *thought* life wanted her to go elsewhere, well, sometimes it’s funny that where we thought we shoudl be going isn’t necessarily where life ends up taking us. Go for it!

I’m with all the pps….GO FOR IT!  ๐Ÿ™‚  Life is an adventure, oftentimes scary, but its always worth it.  I heard a quote once, and it stuck with me, although I don’t know who said it:  “Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk.”  Seems to me you’ve already achieved the great love, so this second part should be easy!  Best of luck to you!

And until you figure it out…fake it ’till you make it.  That’s what I had to do at my old job, because I went from customer service monkey to Executive Assistant to the VP of Int’l Licensing, Legal, Human Resources, and Global Security…and it was because of someone’s reccommendation, too.  I didn’t know what the hell I was doing, but I kept at it until I did.

Even if you didn’t see yourself moving in that direction, think of it this way — are you in the direction you want to be in your present position? It may not be where you’ll end up forever, but it sounds like it has so many pros over where you are now. And don’t let responsibility scare you. The person who does it now obviously thinks you can handle it. You have to be quietly confident. Good luck!
