From the day after I got engaged, my plan was to DIY my wedding paper. I found a smoking hot deal on not just my invitation paper – but an entire suite that included my reply card, invitations, programs and escort cards. It’s the Martha Stewart Crafts Gilded Frame collection.
For around $45 bucks, I got ALL of the above paper. However I was far from in love with the covers that were supposed to hold the invitations. I set out to make my own jackets or pocketfolds. I found some good ideas and prices locally, I was planning to do some heat embossing with a friend’s tools and found a great stamp to use. I’ve invested about $20 additional in stamps and embossing ideas plus a $70 Cricut Create (which I don’t regret, I love scrapbooking regardless of the wedding paper issue…)
I found THIS.
Now I’m questioning whether or not to simply use this design (which I love! our colors are lavender, dark purple and sage green and everything is birds/birdhouses/cages for decor) or continue with what I have already bought, knowing that DIY is going to look great but still cost the same (or possibly more.) Time isn’t a consideration – I can make that work. If DIY is my route, I’ll probably buy SCAL and design everything from scratch.
Help needed here. Would you scrap your DIY or go for it anyway?

Hmm…that’s a tough one. The Vistaprint ones are super cute. You could always sell the Martha Stewart stuff if you decide not to use it.

That’s super tough! Cute image though 🙂 You might want to consider trying to keep the same suite together, if that’s the look you want, if the above image doesn’t come in other stuff other than the save-the-date. While time may not be an issue now, trust me, it will sneak up on you so try and figure that in when the wedding gets closer.

I agree that they are adorable, but VistaPrint will sell your information and in turn you will get magazine subscriptions you don’t want, etc. You can’t get them stopped either – I have been trying to no avail. Whatever you do, stay away from VistaPrint!

I love vistaprint and have used them multiple times with no problems. I like the Vistaprint design and it will be much easier than DIY. I did all of our invites myself and it took so long.

I agree with amariem25. This would definitely be easier than DIY, and you love them, too! I say go for it! I’ve also used Vistaprint multiple times and have had no problems. I remember having to answer “no” to a lot of advertisements during the checkout process …. just be careful of that. (Maybe that’s how they got your info, Bella?) Good luck! 🙂
