I don’t know how to dress boys, so I sent Fiance with his best man and another groomsman to pick out tuxes. Best Man is very fashion conscious, so I figured he was perfect for the job! I told him what colors we are using (navy and ice blues, silver and ivory) and just told him to get whatever he wanted. I also gave him an ice blue ribbon to use as a swatch. Sounds good, right? NOPE! I just got a call from Best Man that he is confused and spoke with the consultant at the Men’s Wearhouse to figure out what color to use for the accessories. How difficult is this? You have a choice of 4 colors, pick one!
Both Fiance and Groomsman are color blind, so that is another reason I sent Best Man, but now it’s just adding to my half-panic! Ugh! Now I just want Fiance to get back home so I can know what is going on! And then work on getting it fixed if need be!
I know I am over-reacting and this isn’t the end of the world, we have plenty of time to fix this. Now I’m really just thinking I should have gone along with him. Am I just being a control freak?

You should just go with him if the bestman is seemingly clueless… I don’t think its controling but just don’t be upset with them. Maybe the bestman got overwhelmed once he got to the shop.
Good luck. I would totally be annoyed though : P

To be fair to the Best Man, I’d hate to be in a position where I would worry about picking the wrong color and upsetting the bride. It might be better if you went with him, so he could show you the color he likes and make sure you are happy with it before the order is placed.

You aren’t a control freak! I’d go with them and give your opinion…I think it’s a completely normal thing for the bride to be involved in these decisions! If it’ll make you feel better, just do it!!

Most formalwear stores have all their merchandise online for viewing as well as samples in stores. You can always write down your ideas, send them in with a list, and let the consultants show your men what you liked so they can choose from a few different looks. (I work at a tuxedo store, I see it A LOT!!) Believe me, it makes things so much easier becuase you know you like them all, and they get to pick what they like too.
Plus, your consultant is there to help them, not to confuse them. Give them a call before they go in again to iron out your concerns ahead of time!
