I went to a bridal show with my mom to get some ideas and check out some of the local vendors. I was not planning on trying anything on, but my mom was really set on the idea of it and asked if I would at least try on one. I ended up trying on two, one of which was awful, but I really did like the other. Long story short, it was an absolute steal and I felt like I couldn’t NOT buy it after everyone and their mother (and my mother) said I should. Now I’m questioning the choice and thinking maybe I should have waited and thought it over. I really need some opinions on whether I should stick with it, or go check out some other options.

I think it looks good on you, personally. But does it fit in with the vision you have for your wedding, or does the style not match with the vibe you’re going for?

Wanted to explain my “keep looking” vote:
The top is lovely, but the two-tier skirt is just not to my taste. IMO, it looks like either the top layer got caught up, or the bottom layer was added to a short dress as an afterthought.
HOWEVER, it is really unique and nothing I’ve seen before, which is cool. It’s also SUPER flattering on your body, so I think it just depends on your personal taste.
If you’re feeling unsure, then keep looking. If you find something else, well then at least this one was a steal so you’re not losing tons of money. If you compare everything else you find to this one and can’t get it out of your head, then you know it’s the one.
Bottom line, it doesn’t matter what my taste is – if you love it, then rock it! If you don’t, then keep looking.

I always envisioned myself wearing a tulle ballgown – ballerina princess style if you will. This is a little different than anything I pictured, but maybe because I’ve never really seen anything like it before.
Also wanted to add that I already talked to a seamstress about putting in a zipper underneath the first “layer” where all the tulle starts so that for the reception I can zip it right off and have a reception dress ready to go! I was debating about possibly covering the tulle with a layer of the same material as the top portion so that maybe it doesn’t look so mis-matchy, but I’m not sure if that would look funky or not.

Definitely not my taste. To me, the dress looks unfinished, or like they started to make one and stopped to make another.
But it doesn’t matter what I think. Only you know if this is your dress. If you love it, it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks!

Personally I do not like it. I would keep looking but since you brought it maybe make the most of it and have the seamtress change the skirt out. I purchased two dresses that I regretted and ended up with a third that I absolutely love.

I dont like it, personally. Its like they made one dress, then started making another dress on top of it, and then gave up.
But if thats your style, then thats all that matters.

I personally like it so I voted keep it, but if you aren’t entirely in love with it, keep looking!
I definitely DON’T like the idea of cutting off the tulle and turning it into a reception dress, don’t ruin a perfectly good dress that someone else might love to have as is as their wedding dress for a reception dress.

@AllieLaLa: I said keep it. I like it, it’s form flattering, and you look like a princess!!
If you don’t like it, I’m sure you won’t have a hard time selling it 🙂

I like it….It’s form flattering and you look like a princess! If you don’t like it, I’m sure you won’t have a hard time reselling it

@AllieLaLa: Totally depends on your taste and what you want your wedding to be like. I didn’t vote because the dress just isn’t anywhere near my style. It reads very “Disney” to me, which for some people is all kinds of awesome!

The top looks great, the skirt…I’ll be honest, it makes me cringe. I think your idea about a reception dress is really cute. I agree with pp though, it’s like they started with one dress and finished with another. Covering the tulle with similar fabric might go a long way towards fixing that.

@MexiPino: yeah it made me think of Belle, which is probably why I like it so much!

It’s not personally my style and at first I wanted to vote, “keep looking”. Then I looked again and it really does look pretty on you. It has a very Disney princess vibe, so if that fits your vision, then it could be perfect. Otherwise, keep looking 🙂
