have you contacted other venues for pricing and info? you don’t have to go visit them, but it does help to get a few to compare.

I only visited like 3 or 4. I did TONS of research online and crossed many off the list after seeing a few pictures and getting prices.

My venue was also like my dress, I saw that baby and had to have it. If you love it and the price is right, DO IT.

We didn’t have a budget, but we were looking for the cheapest of everything. So we actually ended up going to every hotel in the area plus places we would have to supply our own catering and such. So needless to say there were a lot of places we ended up looking.

But I say if this place fits your budget or what have you, and it’s perfect, why not go for it?

We had two lined up two look at, and we went to our first one first. After that, we didn’t even bother with the second one.

We didn’t look at any others. We knew the location from dancing there for years and the coordinators there love FH (and by extension me). The pricing is good, and we got a discount because of when we asked/them liking FH. We set the budget after settling (and booking) the venue. Infact, we booked the venue verbally, before even being engaged.

The town that venue is in looks great!

I believe I saw about 13, the first 2 were on separate occasions (1 was a bridal show and the other was a tour and tasting) the other 11 were done in 1 day.  My venue was second to last, and I knew it the minute I saw the room.  I didn’t know what I was looking for when I started The reasons I went and saw the last one were it was on the list, close by and my venue didn’t have our date (it opened up the next week and we went back 2x more and booked.)

If it had been the first one, I probably would have only gone to one or two more, but I always like to compare to be certain.

I looked at a chapel, a church, and two reception venues.  I was only home for a very short period of time and didn’t have time to look at any more.  Thankfully there aren’t many choices in my hometown.
