What a great idea.
I’m not doing floral centerpiecs, bamboo for us.
I was going to do fake flowers, but at the insistance of certain people, who wanted to pay for real flowers, that is what we are doing. But I wasn’t going fake because of the cost, I just think real flowers in that amounts are a waste of $$.
Love the herb idea. Then people can take them home and use them!

WOW now thats a winter wonderland! How wonderful!

I never thought of that! You should make a post about this on the “flowers” board so those using flowers can find out! 😀

Sure! I did quite a while back, but yes-I will post under flowers. 😀 It’s a great way to bring joy to others who don’t have nearly anything left in life that they enjoy. Just sayin’.

I told my mom I didnt want a Bridal Bouquet, and I thought she was going to pass out. She didnt comment, just changed the topic as soon as her brain came back around! I didnt want florals at first, but besides candles, I couldnt think of options for our colors/theme.
I love your inspiration @HoneyOats22! And your date ;P

I will definitely do that. Our officiant is also the pastor at the local nursing home, so in a way it will be nice to acknowledge that connection too.

We’re doing all candle (non-floral) centerpieces. My mom’s not thrilled, but I’m excited about it. I love the look of candlelight!

When I found out how much fresh flowers cost, I ditched the idea completely. I decided that with the money we will save by not having them, we will get a photobooth instead! We will have “flowers” in the sense that my bouquet will be all hand-knit flowers (my friend is making it), and I am going to make pretty DIY paper flower bouquets (I have all of this fancy patterned cardstock to use) for the BMs. Haven’t figured out the mens’ boutenierres quite yet. And the alter will be decorated with paper tussue flowers and perhaps a few silk ones. When I look back at all the weddings I have been to, I can barely even remember the flowers, so I thought I wouldn’t spend precioius budget-money on them. People may think I’m wierd now, but after the wedding I think they will think it was pretty cool!

I’m a strong advocate of non floral (or artificial floral). Absolutely stunning inspriation, guys

I made my own pinwheel centerpieces out of scrapbook paper in our wedding colors, dowel rods, and ribbon. Heard nothing but positive comments, but maybe the haters just kept their mouths shut. Either way, I wouldn’t change it for the world. I worked hard on those puppies!
(To explain the sign: each table was named for a city we visited, with stories about us in that city, and a photograph of us there beside it.)

My non floral centerpieces dont bother people too much, its the no bouqet thing that gets them lol

Im not doing flowers either Im just having moss and freeze dried petals which still have a bit of scent to them, this is a great website for on the cheap http://www.flyboynaturals.com. It could look really pretty if you scatter some petals around the bottom of your floating candle containers. I also am in love with the candles in lanterns right now i think there so cute. You could also just throw some branchs in a vase and hang tealights off the branches. As for your bouquets look into fabric ones sometimes they can be absolutly beautiful and turned into things after like headbands, I actually prefer the fabric/ button boutineers. Look on etsy for fabric bouquets or for a bit more of a fun look try http://www.princesslasertron.com
Good luck and happy planning

When talking with one florist, I mentioned that I was considering having my bridesmaids carry lanterns instead of bouquets, and she made a crack about them looking like they were Paul Revere. I’m starting to get a real attitude against florists in general!
