- Wedding: September 2015
So, in my last post, I said that Fiance had saved up the entire budget for our wedding, so everything can now be paid in full as we plan. I also said that he thinks we’ll be able to move in together next month. So a few days ago, I was doing more research on vendors and found a photographer that I absolutely loved (Beautiful pictures, great reviews, etc). I sent her an email inquiring about pricing and was a little bummed when I saw her cheapest wedding package was about 1000 over our budget. She asked what it was we were looking for with photography and what our budget was. After talking about it, she says that we can definitely a la carte a package that suits our needs and doesn’t break the bank. I met up with her and we managed to work out a package where we get 4 hours of photography, a DVD, 2 photographers, and an online gallery to order prints from, giving us a small discount (weddingwire) to be just within our budget. We also were able to work out a deal where if Fiance and I booked her for the wedding within 72 hours, paying in full, she would throw in a free coffee table album or extra photo shoot.
While on our annivesary mini-vacation (hotel stay and tour of a local cavern. Absolutely beautiful, tons of fun, and desperately needed), Fiance and I discussed it. I showed him her website and blog, went over her contract, etc. Finally, we decided that if she could extend the album/shoot deal to tomorrow, that we’d be able to pay the full amount. She agreed, so you know what that means? We have a photographer!!
Then, Fiance suggests that since we’re both off from work that we should go check out apartments. We look around, make a list of a couple places to check out and start moving. The first complex we visited was just perfect, honestly. Great location near most of the main highways, tons of cabinet space, modern appliances, HUGE tub. Not as much square footage as we would have liked (they also only had the 1 beds available, as opposed to the 2 bed we wanted), but nothing we can’t work with. They also have a 30 day “Love it or Leave it” policy, where if you don’t like it and want to leave for whatever reason within 30 days, you’re able to without it being considered breaking your lease. They have an apartment available ON MY BIRTHDAY for move-in. If it weren’t for the fact that they needed paystubs, we would have applied right then. It’s pretty much a done deal.
Tomorrow, we’ll be applying for the apartment and officially booking our photographer. I’m so excited!! This was just such an incredibly productive weekend in regards to our future together. We’ve also begun working out our honeymoon plans and will have a venue finalized by the end of the month. It’s just been great!
