My dress fitting is a month away and I really really want to lose 15 lbs!!! This is so hard I have been counting my calories, drinking water and working out like crazy!!! I only lost 6 lbs since Jan 7th. Im getting frustrated, I think I need to cut the carbs, like bread and pasta and focus on just meats and veggies. Anybody else trying to lose weight before the big day?? How are you doing it? What is working for you? I needs some more modivation!! Please help

Definitely cut out white flour, white sugar, white rice, etc. Make sure you’re exercising as well. I’ve lost 12lbs since the beginning of January doing those things. Granted, I got really sick for 2 days and lost 5lbs, but I haven’t gained it back!

6lbs in one month is a lot. You should be proud of yourself. Much more than that can be unhealthy if you don’t have supervision.
Also, it’s just the first fitting. You have a lot of time, and will probably have two more fittings, so you are free to lose your other 9 lbs as you go. Just warn your seamstress; let her know you’ve been losing about 1.5lbs per week and plan to keep losing until 2 weeks before the wedding (the last fitting).

@Future Mrs K: I just started eating clean. See my thread here for what I have been eating. Keep in mind that I weigh over 200lbs so I might have a larger intake than you should. Also, I am a pescaterian. I am only on day four and already feel a difference, i have not weighed yet though…

Great job so far!!! As you said, defnitely focus more on lean meats and veggies… but also, drink green tea (real… not pre-made/bottled). Drink it while it’s still hot, because that’s when you benefit most from the chemical in it that burns extra calories… not to mention how many antioxidants are in it! Just don’t drink it on an empty stomach… it makes you queasy, like when you take vitamins on an empty stomach.

Fiance and I started WW about six weeks ago, and one thing I’ve noticed is that we’re consuming a lot less cheese. bread/pasta, and alcohol. Not that those things are gone, I just measure a lot more, and stop eating at the end of a serving. A lot more fruits and vegetables, and “real” servings of meat – like the sensible 3-6 oz. recommended. There’s been a big difference just as my body has made adjustments to those changes.
