    get a dramatic necklace

sew cap sleeves on the dress

    cover up with a bolero

relax, have a drink, and it is all good!

I think you look gorgeous – I wouldn’t change the dress at all, it suits you soooo well. A statement necklace could easily go with this dress if you want to break up the space. For vintage a lace shawl would also be really pretty and I agree some crinoline under the skirt will also look amazing. Talk to your seamstress about some of the options, but please wait until the dress is fitted before you make a drastic change such as adding straps or sleeves to the dress! (Also I think the bolero will be too much!)

I didn’t read all of the comments so I don’t know if this has been said, but it’s the boob area that is throwing the dress off. I think that a really good supportive strapless bra will bring them more center and create the nice line that you want…and a little cleavage. I wouldn’t add anything to the dress, personally. It’s beautiful the way it is. The rest of your body looks a-mazing.

    @EsqBailey:  Agree.

Also, shoulders back, hips forward, chin up. Posture if EVERYTHING, no matter your size or shape Wink

You look great!  And I love the ruching on the waist.

I also have a hard time with the upper part of strapless dresses… I voted for adding cap sleeves.  What about something like this?

I also like the statement necklace idea.  Smile

I am old, and large“… this cracked me up.  And does NOT accurately describe the woman I see in that picture!  You look fabulous in that dress, and it is very flattering.  Your husband-to-be is going to lose it when he sees you!

Love the necklace you posted, too – I think it goes great with the dress!

Statement necklace! Excellent taste, lady :o)

And ditto everyone re: undergarments and alterations. Scoot yourself off to a fine lingerie shop and get the girls a proper support system, then try that dress on again. You’ll see a world of difference!

    (Also, root beer barrel? Pssshhh.)

First of all, I agree with PPs that you look great and you are being way too hard on yourself. I also think a crinoline would add some balance and fun without doing too much to the dress.

But does anybody else think taking in a bit of “pouf” at the very top would also make a slimmer line? It might be different with a better bra, but it looks like there’s some fabric sticking out under your arms that you don’t need.

Relax, you’ll look gorgeous! Your shoulders look fine and your waist looks tiny!

Oh hush!!! You look better than me in a strapless and I’m 24!

Honestly, you look good. I would only think:

It seems like the very top could be taken in a bit? Or maybe you should try it on with some better support? I’m not sure.

    You look great!

I definitely think you need a great necklace.

Also, even though you look great, a bolero would be a good option. Even if you wanted to be without for the ceremony, then put it on for the reception so you could have pics of both, it would be cute. All white or one of your wedding colors would be super cute!

i would wear your hair down and in front of your shoulders, or at least one of your shoulders. I vote no to adding anything to the chest/shoulders area. Maybe long and thin earrings?

Like a PP suggested, fix the posture and it fixes everything! i think if you straightened your elbows it would completely get rid of what you call your football look.

I totally see the rootbeer thing you are talking about now that you mention it, but only in an ‘oh, aren’t you funny and clever’ sort of way. You look fab. Your hips look so tiny. I love your dress.

I was not expecting that by your title! You look FABULOUS in that dress. The rouching is super flattering, and I love the cut of the bottom of the skirt. I think adding a statement necklace would be a great addition. If you think you need sleeves, get sleeves added, but I don’t think you need it. I also agree with PP that good under things- like a great fitting bra, and maybe a crinolin to poof out the bottom just a bit- will make it look amazing. But don’t be so hard on yourself! And poor yourself a strong drink because you look great in your wedding dress!
