So, last night I was laying in bed (next to SO) trying to fall asleep and I was listening to “Forever Road” by Darius Rucker on my iPod (we’re going to see him in concert next weekend!), and the next thing I know, I’m crying! Tears of joy, of course. I just started thinking about how truly close I am to being (officially) the future Mrs. Eastwood! I mean, my ring is being made as we speak! That’s freakin’ exciting!! So many times over the course of my “waiting,” I’ve been upset that it hasn’t happened yet and wondering if it ever would, but last night I felt just the opposite. I was soooo excited and anxious for it to happen, but not in a “Just do it already!” kind of way, more of a “I can’t wait! :)” kind of way. I felt a little silly, and I was glad that it was nighttime and SO was sound asleep, but it felt really good at the same time to physically release my excitement and happiness for what I know is going to happen very soon! But if just thinking about it brought on the water works, I can’t imagine the mess I will be when it actually happens!!
Have any of you done anything like this before?
By The Way, here are some of the lyrics to “Forever Road” so you can understand what brought on the joyful tears:
Baby as our lives unfold
There’s no telling where we’ll go
But as far as I can see, it’ll be you and me
Just the way it’s supposed to be
Don’t worry baby
I ain’t no maybe
Rain or Shine
This Love of mine is for you
Let my arms remind you
I’ll always be beside you
Holdin’ on until this ride is through
So away we go, down that forever road
It ain’t gonna be easy
We’ll both make big mistakes
But if you love me, trust me
We’ve got what it takes

That’s not silly, it’s great! Happy tears are the very best ones. I have had many a happy tear in secret lying in our bed, haha. So if you’re lame, I’m lame too, lol.

Reading those lyrics me a little teary-eyed – we are at that excited waiting point too!! Even up until last week there was a litte a lot of impatience, but he picked out a stone for my ring on Friday and ever since we both have been completely giddy! I better not listen to the whole song or I’ll be a bawling mess in front of Mr. PB.
