This is kind of a follow-up post to the one I submitted the other day, about my upcoming trip to CA in Feb.
Hubby & I talked a lot about the trip last night. We went to Expedia & some other websites to look at hotel costs (Fisherman’s Wharf area in SF). We found some that were priced OK, but called several of them & parking was outrageous. It really upped the overall cost & considering we don’t have a TON of money for this vacay, we really had to deliberate on what was more important: WHERE we stay or WHAT we are able to do while we’re there. He left it up to me, and said if I want the experience of staying in a more expensive place, we could.
After much deliberation, & reading a LOT of customer reviews, my practical side won.
We booked the motel last night. It was one of the cheapest places we found online, and no, it’s definately NOT a palace, but it’s less than HALF the cost of the one we were considering staying at & now I’m sure we will have a lot more money for other things. The customer reviews were all positive, except for 2 (there were about 20 reviews at least) & they did all say it was clean. That’s the main thing I was concerned about, so I was happy to read that. Side benefit: FREE PARKING & it’s within blocks of everything we wanted to do.
No, I’m sure I won’t feel like a princess when we pull up in front of the place, but we’re only going to be there for sleeping & showering, so I can deal with it 😛
