In a Dark, Dark Wood
Nora hasn’t seen Clare for ten years. Not since Nora walked out of school one day and never went back.
There was a dark, dark house
Until, out of the blue, an invitation to Clare’s hen do arrives. Is this a chance for Nora to finally put her past behind her?
And in the dark, dark house there was a dark, dark room
But something goes wrong. Very wrong.
I just started it and it’s really good.

Currently am reading ‘Kraken’ by China Mieville. He writes fantasy/science fiction stuff that’s pretty weird and different from the rest of the genre. It’s amazing stuff. My favorite of his is ‘Perdido Street Station’, but this is turning out to be a lot of the same urban steampunk fantasy oddities. It’s kind of like if Neil Gaiman found himself in a grungy English alley in another time and place.

I just finished The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson, which was AMAZING. Apparently Martin Scorsese is going to make a movie about it wits Leo Dicaprio as the lead. YES. I am now starting In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. I want to try to work my way through the Amazon 100 books to read before you die list.

I tried reading “Devil in the White City” because I have heard nothing but praise for it but I just couldn’t get into it.
I just finished “The Light Between Oceans” which was a beautiful story, and am currently half way through “The Nightingale” which I am really enjoying so far. Highly recommend both of these to anyone who enjoys historical fiction.
