It depends where you are. Where I live (upstate NY) your budget would not be reasonable at all. I went into the wedding thinking that since I wanted just simple and colorful flowers, and wasn’t asking for spendy blooms like orchids and peonies, that I could do my flowers for ~$1500 for 16 centerpeice (mix of tall and short), 5 bridesmaids, 5 groomsmen, corsages for the parents, small ceremony decorations (like rose petals for aisle and a few flowers on the ends of the chairs) and my bouquet. My first quote was for $5K!!!! The next couple quotes were anywhere from $3-4K. And some of these florists were super snobby and rude when I said I didn’t want to spend that much, said it wasn’t possble to get the look from my inspiration pics on so little money.

We finally found a florist who wound up being closer to $2K, which was a relief at that point. She did amazing work, and I couldn’t be happier, but it was a battle keeping to a budget. Florals are crazy expensive!

Perhaps I am a lone voice here, but my first thought was “1000US or more on flowers? FLOWERS?”

I will use as few flowers as possible because they are so expensive. A few bouquets, some dried flowers, some petals, and a few flowers picked up the day before from some supermarket or other, probably. Hopefully I can keep it to around 300US, tops… at least, I hope so LOL!

Ina  city like Dallas, that might not be enough. Where I got married, tall centerpieces alone ran $120-200 depending on flower selection.

My budget is 500.00 for my bridal bouquet: 2 BMs, 1 Junior Bridesmaid or Best Man, 4 Leis (1 for groom, 2 for groomsmen and 1 for I guess “junior” groomsman?)

These are some scary numbers here! I need:

    1 toss bouquet

    3 bridesmaids bouquets

    2-4 small bouquets for mothers/grandmothers

    7 boutonnieres

1 small bouquet for my daughter

I haven’t met with a florist yet, so I’m no sure on what to expect as far as price. I’m really hoping to keep it under $100, but now I’m not so sure. I would probably be able to keep it under $100 if I went the DIY route, right?

Admittedly, I didn’t really put aside a budget for my flowers. It wasn’t really “unlimited”, but I didn’t really have a firm limit on what I would spend.

In the end, it worked out being a little over $3,200 for:

    • My bridal bouquet
    • 4 x Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets
    • 1 x groom boutonniere
    • 4 x Groomsmen boutonniere
    • 100 x rose petal confetti cones
    • 70 small, low arrangements for the reception tables
    • Cake table arrangements
    • Sweetheart table arrangements
    • Guest book table arrangements
    • Lounge area arrangement.

I was really happy with how the flowers all turned out though!

My flowers will be $590.00 for my boquet, the groom’s buttonhole, buttonhole and corsages for parents, two flower arrangements for the ceremony and a petal aisle. I don’t think that’s too bad to leave a professional in charge.

We’re planning less than $750.  For our decor we are doing a lot of mason jars filled with candles and DIY decor.  My parents have a pumpkin patch at their house and have agreed to over produce the year of our wedding to use as some centerpieces.  Fiance has willingly agreed to use old wood (that his ex-FIL has generously told us we could take at will from his farm land).  So we will be making a cake stand, a cute idea of old wooden ladders, some chicken wire and string for our “guest book”.

It really depends on what decor you want.  For our wedding we wanted a rustic/ fall feel to it and we’re very lucky to have family and friends who are generously donating some of their resources to help us.  We are also paying for our wedding ourselves and I can’t imagine paying $1,000+ on flowers that will die in the next few days.  All my flowers (which basically just include bridal party and about 40 simple centerpieces) are all in season and a mixture of dried grasses like wheat, bunny tails, monkey tails, broomcorn and live flowers like dahlias and sunflowers.

I told my florist I wanted flowers that usually weren’t seen in weddings (other than the dahlias and sunflowers which are my favorite flowers) and I wanted a mixture of dried flowers and fresh flowers.  I’m really happy with the ideas we came up with.  I told her absolutely no roses or calla lilies.  While I love both of those flowers I just think they are too common in weddings.
