Wow…I fear that i’ll be asking you things for the next year. I had written this post before and would love your opinion. Do these colors go together? green and sangria? I had an inspiration of a green orchid and wanted to make it work. But I’m actually not sure if the table linens should have the green or the sangria accents. here are my inspiration pics…

Thank you so much for any ideas you could give me. I’m also finding that the types of flowers I want are very expensive, so any other flowers that might help compliment my flowers without breaking the bank would help.

@Phebelasha:  How did you get into the wedding planning business?  Are wedding planners able to save brides money because they get better deals with vendors?

How much communication should I expect from a DOC?  My wedding is in 6 months.

What are some of the most important pieces of advice you’d give to brides on the lead up, as well as day of, their wedding?

I love flowers and would ideally have a tonne at my wedding. How can I get the most flowers for a cheaper price. I am doing purple as my colour but different shades is fine with me. Green and Ivory flowers would be fine as well.

Hi Phebelasha!

Thank you so much for doing ths. I have two questions:

We are inviting 500+ people to our wedding and I am concerned about getting to say hi/see everyone.  I’m not crazy about a receiving line but I can’t figure out how to make sure we see everyone as a couple without skipping dinner to go to tables. Do you have any suggestions? (Italian Catholic wedding)

Instead of dessert and a late lunch we are serving a “bar/buffet” of candy/cake/cookies/cheese/fruit. How do I figure out the amounts of each to purchase? It has to look tidy and well stocked at all times. The venue caters for itself but they haven’t really done this before so they are being quite vague.  Should I bring in someone my take care of this? Who? How?

Thanks!

Hello!

I don’t think our budget is going to allow for a limo or any other sort of transportation for the entire bridal party (total of 10 people). Are there any affordable solutions to this?

The girls will need to get from the salon to the ceremony space, the guys will need to get from someone’s house to the ceremony space. Then everyone will need to get from the ceremony to the park where we’ll be taking pictures, and from the park to the reception hall. Then of course after that everyone has to get home, and I feel really guilty telling my bridal party to “drive yourselves or figure it out.” Plus I don’t want to waste precious picture time waiting for 5 different cars to arrive to our photography location.

Undecided

Thanks!

@Stace126:  I saw your question and just wanted to let you know that we are renting school buses. A short bus for the wedding party and a normal size bus to come to the venue a couple times throughout the night to take people one or two locations. I haven’t figured that part out yet.  Anyway the limos were going to cost us $800 for the day and the two buses are costing $250.

What can I expect a DOC to do for me, and how far ahead of the wedding should I let her know what I’ll need done?  We’re having a more casual cocktail party, can the DOC do things like pick up ice for us and other little errands like that?
