hi! I was just wondering aprox how much event draping really costs! I am planning on draping my whole venue in fabric (celing and walls) and just curious how much I will be spending on it.

Hi Phoebe,

Question were having our reception at the Hyatt, the place is so elegant my question is I would like to have menus for each guest even thought they are picking their meat choice on the rsvp card, can I still do a menu or not? Thanks

Hi! One of your earlier suggestions was to set a limit for the bar and have it turn to cash afterwards. I know many bees were concerned about how to let guests know about this. I’d like to be able to share that they may want to have cash with them (in case we hit our limit) without it sounding awkward or setting us up to run out of alcohol early (because everyone wants to get it when it’s free).

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Phebelasha –

I could really use some advice on our ceremony. It’s a small outdoor ceremony. I am not particularly close to my dad and don’t want him to walk me down the aisle. But I’m not sure I want my mom to walk me down the aisle either. But, I really don’t want to walk down the aisle by myself! I’m kind of shy. Have you ever seen any ceremonies where the groom and the bride enter together? We’re somewhat non traditional. I’m having major stress over this!

Where do you recommend in the MA/NH area?

@@Phebelasha:

Okay so I feel bad because there are a ton of comments for you to respond to, but this is an awesome thread!!

I am having a glam, black and white wedding and our tables are not that glam I think–we have about 15 ostrich plumes along with our floral arragement for the centerpieces (here is a pic without the feathers)

We just have black linens, and really nothing else other than boxed favors. Do you have some suggestion on what we can do to “glam” up our table tops?

Thanks!!

@Phebelasha: Thanks! Now, if we aren’t having any food prior to the dinner (just can’t afford it. Not even cheese and crackers) then is that a problem? The DJ will be moving from our ceremony site to the reception site and hooking up his stuff so I don’t know when exactly music will start. And the venue has ushers to move the guests so I don’t have to worry about that. So without having music or food do I run the risk of upset guests?

@Phebelasha: I’m wondering how to dress up a venue. My reception has beautiful views, just the room itself is on the ugly side. It has nice chandeliers but a wild color scheme and the funkiest carpet and curtains I’ve ever seen (red, green and grey). Does a venue remove the window treatments if you ask nicely or is that rude to ask? How do you decorate enough to hide the awful carpet? I was thinking about having lighting but since its summer and all windows, I don’t think that will do any good. Any suggestions?
