could you perhaps put your hair up so that the piece sits snug underneath it on the side?

I see what your saying. It needs some other texture to lighten it up. Have you tried different sized pearls or more rhinestones along the edges?

Are you open to the idea of adding some type of feather? A few white ostrich feathers would soften it up a bit. Maybe some poofs made out of tulle or netting?

@MrsRugbee:  I agree.  It’s very pretty but I think it needs to be thinned out a little.  I might try replacing some of the pearls with smaller ones and getting of a few here and there.

@Rachel631:  I think that would be lovely. Maybe create some interesting shapes?

Here are the closest suggestions I could find:

I agree with the posts above, it is a great start, just lighten it up a bit.

I would add some crystals to lighten it – the light in July (even in UK) will reflect off them and look lovely. I would reccomend some 3 or 4mm swarovski crystals, or if you want to save a bit of money some presciosa crystals. I am presuming you are pretty ‘up’ on beadery as your headpeice is amazing. If I were you I would get some very thin (like 0.2mm wire in a vintage brass colour) wire and just gently wire wrap/scatter the crystals throughout. If you do it loose, on the day the crystals can be adjusted as per needed. I would have them as ‘wandering’ crystals if that makes sense. If it is a little less constructed (which can easily be adjusted) it may look less bulky? 🙂 Seriously, thouh I love it!

perhaps you could try different size pearls. you might have too many pearls for that size brooch. If you had slightly smaller ones, that might balance it?

I am a little confused about how this is being used with your veil. Are you planning on wearing this under your veil? or attaching your veil to it? Does the veil have edging?

like as a tiara? I am assuming you aren’t going to try to attach it to the side. If so, I think it will be just fine as is tiara style with a large veil. If you are wearing your hair in some kind of bun, you’ll be surprised how much weight it can support. I would attempt to do a mockup of the comb with the veil and you will get better opinions, I for one, would love to see it
