FI’s sister is getting married in September, chuch ceremony and function hall reception – nothing too fancy. Do you think the below dress would be good for me to wear as a guest? (model pic):
It’s kind of casual, I originally got it to wear to work but figured it might double as something I could wear to the wedding. Thanks guys!

I have a very similar dress from Banana Republic! But that being said, I feel like it may be a bit too casual … maybe if you dress it up with a blazer and accessories it would look better?

It’s a dress, you’ll be covered up, it’s not white, it’s fine.
Ladies on the Bee are way too fussy about what guests at weddings wear in general. Unless you stand out in a bad way (very short or low cut, too fancy/flashy for the situation such as heavy beading or sequins, way too casual such as jeans) no one will give a second thought to what you’re wearing.

Yep – I think it’s way cute! I would totally wear it.

Too funny, a friend of mine just used those dresses as her bridesmaid dresses! I think it’s very cute to wear as a guest.

ohhh bright clutch…love that idea!

I think it’s a great dress! Have some fun with shoes or jewelry- black and white is classic and can go with anything!

I have that dress- Calvin Klein? It’s super cute. I wear it to work and I wore it to a rehersal dinner with a large pearl necklace. It’s totally appropiate for a wedding.

Yes definitely. With a great necklace and pair of shoes, I think its perfect!

Yes, it is Calvin Klein… I this oversized pearl necklace from H&M, it would prob go well with it…. or maybe something with more color?… either way I’ll figure it out before the wedding 🙂

Personally I wouldn’t wear black and white to a wedding, since those are the traditional colour-no-nos. But if it’s casual I don’t think anyone would mind, especially if you wear non-black/white shoes. I really like the dress!

Go for it! The bee is SO critical of guest clothing. You’ll get a ton of “don’t wear black” “dont wear white!” But if you posted a dress that was a color you’d be expected to find out the wedding colors to make sure you don’t match. FI’s sister once wore a dress that was COMPLETELY sequined to a wedding. No one will give a second thought to what you wear and that dress is very verstile.

Very cute. Wear some chunky jewelry and fun heels and you’re golden!
