For lines or shapes you can just insert them from the program you are making your template. We used microsoft publisher. If you want flowers, you could use clip art, google images or a really good thing is going to dafont.com They have fonts called dingbats that are pictures, then you can change the colour, the size, etc. Its how we worked with starfish on our invites. Hope that helps, not a stupid question at all. Took me a while to figure out how it all works as well.

Lol. I asked these same questions before I figured out how to do it. I used MS Word and my mac to design all of my paper products. Some people used photoshop, and adobe, and many other programs to create beautiful things. I went on dafont.com and downloaded a bunch of pretty fonts and I just went from there. MS Word is great! There’s tons of clip art, and you can draw swirls or anything else you want.. I would suggest just looking online or doing a google search for invites that you like, to get some inspiration, and then just play around with MS if you have it..It feels soo good to be able to say that you created your invitations..
