I feel like I’ve been looking at so many different photographer I feel like my eyes are going to bleed. I feel a little lost about what I’m supposed to be looking for to determine if the photographer is the right fit.
I am having a destination wedding so I would like my pictures to be beautiful (obviously) and I would also like some direction – I want them to know what shots to take and how to take them!
Can I have some examples of GOOD wedding photographers?

I came across this one searching for another bee recently:
This is a photographer whose blog I like to stalk sometimes:
Note: neither of these is me, though I am a wedding photographer as well, and neither of them is my wedding photographer. Neither of them is in my area, or yours either. I don’t know anything about them other than that I like their work.
But… I do believe they have examples of GOOD wedding photography! Hope that helps!

@Lily_of_the_valley: Also… I can probably search a few Cabo photogs for you as well!

Good is a really subjective thing. Some of my favorites in different styles and for different reasons are:
but these are some of the best wedding photographers in the world. Not realistic expectations for the average wedding photographer. 🙂

@seAprilbride: I have no clue about photographer rates – $2,000??

@Lily_of_the_valley: I know the feeling! For me, I can tell if someone is my kind of photographer is their photos make me feel something – especially when I have no relationship with the people in them. There are plenty of photographers who can take a decent photo but if the photos don’t exude emotion, then they’re not my style.
Not everyone feels the need for emotion in photography though… maybe you’d be happy with more static shots that do a great job of documenting the day. Style-me-pretty is a great resource if that’s your style.

@Lily_of_the_valley: I don’t know what the standard rates for pro photography in Cabo are, but the general rule of thumb is that true professional photography starts around $2500 at the lower end. Professional meaning someone with experience, artistic talent, skill, and high quality equipment.
Ok… here are a few examples and my thoughts on them.
Way, way overedited and inconsistent.
A lot of very grainy and flat images here – don’t like.
Tiara + Derek | Bayer Estate | Hawaii Destination Wedding
This isn’t a Cabo wedding, but I saw on his site that he has done them. I like his style, featuing bright, natural colors.
These photogs use have a very specific, highly stylized style that you may or may not like… I’m guessing they probably charge a lot for it. Not my personal cup of tea, but it might be yours.
So that’s two not so good photogs, one good one, and one…special one. Hopefully this gives you some better ideas of what might be out there! Just to let you know, I didn’t look at prices at all on these…

@DecoMeOut: I know him. Good guy, great photographer. You’ll be very happy with your wedding and the experience. He’s what I categorize as a pro!
