(Closed) OK is this weird… paper crowns for reception?

    YES! How fun and unique!

    Maybe just for the wedding party, not all of the guests...

    Paper crowns are too offbeat, you should skip the crowns.

    While it isn’t my taste – I think weddings are the time to celebrate you as a couple, and if you two like crowns, or it ties into your theme/feel, then yes! do it!

    Paper crowns remind me of Christmas, because they come in the Christmas crackers! ๐Ÿ™‚

    But I agree with the above post—if it suits your theme and your fiance and you like them, I say do what you want!

    I am from the UK originally and at Christmas we get crackers that we pull while we eat dinner – inside there are paper hats – when I first read your post my mind jumped to that image – but seeing the pics I LOVE the idea, espcially if it fits your theme to do that… I’m personally of the school of thought that as it is YOUR wedding it does not matter what anyone else thinks as long as it is what you want and love then DO IT.. ๐Ÿ™‚

    @AnnieAAA:  Ditto!

    These do remind me of Burger King crowns though.

    If it suits you, go for it!  If they don’t want to wear them, they don’t have to!  I’d just make sure to get plenty of pictures of you and DH without the crowns, too.

    @sienna76:  That was exactly my thought, they look like the Burger King ones.  Sorry, imo they seem like something a little more appropriate for a kid’s birthday party.

    Croquet and badminton at a wedding? What a fun and great idea! I definitely think paper crowns would fit into the whimsy of your wedding. I personally would tihnk it were adorable but I know my Fiance would be like, “WTH, are they seriously expecting me to wear this?”  I wouldn’t expect everyone to be on board but you never know what peer pressure will do to a person! Who wants to be that one guy at the party NOT wearing the crown?

    I think you have to picture the people invited to your wedding. Sure you and DH migh be cute and trendy, but how is grandma and Uncle Joe going to feel/look in a crown?

    @Angkinah:  This is what I thought of too! The crowns are my favorite part of the crackers and I usually wear mine all day and forget to take it off when we go out later! ๐Ÿ™‚

    If you like it, do it. Worse that could happen is some poeple won’t wear them.

    I would say do them in you wedding colors. How fun would that look in pictures?

    They remind me a lot of Burger King.  Sorry, I don’t want to be rude, but that was the first thing that came to mind – the paper crowns they used to give with kids meals.  If I were at this wedding, I’d feel uncomfortable and wouldn’t wear it.
