@RainStorm:  The first dress I ordered was small and I didn’t have dress regret, just issues with the owner so it was returned for a full refund.

The second dress I ordered was the right size and I’m quite happy with it

I don’t think it has to do with size- the sample fit me and I bought it off the rack, had dress regret, and got another off the rack sample that fit me..

@RainStorm:  I think dress regret comes from there being sooooo many pretty dresses out there but you can only wear one! You buy your dress, think it’s perfect, then log on to the bee and see a gorgeous dress on another bee. You  go to the bridal salon just to try it on, you love it – bang, dress regret.

As for trying on the correct size dress – I have no idea (yet), I’m a waiting bee 🙂

I dont think there is one definite reason for dress regret. Reading the threads every day, I see many different reasons. Some people get worked up while shopping with a bunch of family or friends, others picked a dress because of a sale or a pushy consultant, some lose weight so the style they prefer changes, and I see lots of other reasons.

I ordered my dress online without actually trying it on, but when it arrived I was very happy with it 🙂 No dress regret whatsoever!

Here’s my theory- we don’t look at our wedding dress as a dress, we see it as something that is supposed to make us look perfect. We have such high expectations and think a certain dress will take away any flaws and amplify all our good qualities and that’s not realistic.

Add to that a large price tag (which leads to higher expectations- ‘I paid $… for this dress, I’d better look amazing’) and you have dress regret.

Has anyone here ever regretted a non-expensive dress that you wore to an event that wasn’t super important to you? I doubt many people do.

I love my dress, so I’m not speaking from experience, but it makes sense to me.

It’s a good point. I often wonder if the sample had fitted better then maybe I would have chosen another dress. Also there were some dresses I loved that I couldn’t even got on, who knows if they were the perfect dress for me? The dress I ended up choosing fitted me almost perfectly.

My theory about dress regret is simply that there is too much to choose from! Too much choice = anxiety about decision making.

My dress regret is that I’m pregnant! When I try my empire dress, since it better for the baby, I didn’t have much belly. Yesterday I receive it and I was in tears cause I hate it so much. I look like an Elephant and I still have 4 weeks to wait until my wedding. My friends says I’m beautiful exept one who says everything she really think. She said that I don’t really look pregnant but just fat in this dress. I’m really not fat by the way so it was not insulting for me to ear that. That’s what I was thinking.

I want something that shows my belly and not just try to hide it. I’m going to be 26 weeks pregnant at my wedding. So I ask a fresh graduated designer if she have time to make a dress in 4 weeks. She said yessss and I  hope she will be able to make me a beautiful dress that I won’t feel like and elephant but actually pregnant!!

I think choice is the big factor-you buy your dress and you think oh maybe I should have tried a ballgown, drop waist, mermaid, etc or oh doesn’t that model look beautiful in that one. I tried on everything in every shape and I don’t have any dress regret.
