What did you get done last month?… this weekend?
I finally booked our honeymoon!!!! And today (Sunday) I booked our wedding night hotel. We’ll be heading out after the reception (I have on order champagne and chocolate covered strawberries for us as a surprise for fi). I am so excited.
I got the guys all measeured for their vests… we figured out their outfits. Fi got measured for his suit. Fmil almost finished ring bearer’s suit. I finished glitterizing my shoes and they look perfect.
Things to do this week:
I do have to buy material now for the guys vests. And I have a meeting tomorrow with a potential venue for the ceremony. Things are progressing. I will probably also book the transportation tomorrow as well. And I am looking for an officiant. Tomorrow fi and I will work on all the paper stuff: invitations, menu, thank you etc…
And I am planning my sons 4th birthday.

@bridalprincess: Where the heck did August go?!?!?! I haven’t gotten anything wedding related done since the invites went out! Today I am going to get some crafting done (I’m so tired of paper flowers right now) and start looking around to get cupcake quotes. I’m hoping that this week we can sit down with our officiant and talk to him about the ceremony. Things seemed to have fallen into place for the most part and now its pretty much all DIY left!

@cant.wait.to.be.mrs.d: I know it just flew by it seems. Lucky all you have is DIY. I wish I had it all done now but it seems like my list keeps growing of what I have to do… at least it’s getting done. What else do you have to DIY?
@bridalprincess: I have to paint jars, make the table numbers, and make paper flowers for the centerpieces. This is an early version, I’ve made some tweaks.
I have to make burlap and cloth flowers for the bouquets
The roses in mine will be ivory burlap, brown is for my girls. I’m also adding in lace and cloth flowers.
Just a really rough mock up.
I have to make the programs
And print the names on the escort card/favor tag (not using this yarn…I think butcher twine would be cute)
I also have to DIY all the signs, monogrammed champagne flutes for the bms, stamp favor bags for the late night popcorn snack, and all the thank you cards need to be made.

I’m not quite sure where August went, but I sure hope I don’t miss September. I have to make my table numbers. glitter more votives, make my programs, finalize the music, write my vows, finalize the ceremony, do hair and makeup trials, and a bunch more stuff.

I reordered my dress so fingers crossed this time. Have a few DIY projects, candle holders, etc. Still have to decide on a cake design. Have to work out hair. Have to finalise menu… Just a few things… :-/

It seems August was sucked into some time vortex!!! I think I did get quite a bit done though!
- My Siman Tu earrings arrived from New York.
- I picked up my custom wedding ring today.
- I have booked all the appointments with the embassy (wedding paperwork), photographer and celebrant in Thailand.
- Ordered all the guys shoes.
- Booked all remaining honeymoon flights in Cambodia & Vietnam.
- Bought a new bikini for the Destination Wedding & honeymoon.
- Ordered all bonbonniere.
I am heading to Sydney this weekend to pick up my dress and get it fitted!!! Yay!!
So the other things I need to get done this month are:
- Book Junk Cruise in Vietnam.
- Send though final wedding details to resort.
- Send info packs to those attending Destination Wedding.
- Buy my ‘temple’ ceremony dress.
- Get my sister (MOH) shoes & jewellery sorted.
- Get the groom’s outfit sorted.
The end is in sight! Do any of you wonder what you will do with all of your time after the wedding day??? 🙂

Dang September really snuck up on me too! Things I crossed off the list last month:
- Finished/ mailed the invites (Yay!)
- Ordered FI’s ring
- Picked groomsmen attire
- Figured out the readings for ceremony
- Finished design for centerpieces- still have to buy some things for that, but we know exactly what to get now
The only DIY I’ve got left (i think!!) is programs (almost done, will finish this month) and escort cards (waiting till October when RSVP deadline rolls around). That leaves logistics as my main to-do for September- setting a time for the rehearsal, finalizing music selections, making a timeline for the wedding and sending it to vendors, that sort of thing. None of which are big, but I’m paranoid I’ll forget something!

Just looked back at my August to-do list, and I completed all of those except finalizing the monogram. I have several options to choose from – just need to reach agreement with Fiance on our pick. I’m working on a comprehensive to-do list, but here’s what’s coming up next:
- finalize monogram
- order step & repeat banner
- order gobo stencils
- finalize catering menu
- finalize bridal suite reservation (choose from 2 I have reserved)
- submit newspaper announcement
- pick tuxes for groomsmen
Maybe it’s just me, but I’m really not feeling too much pressure yet. I have a lot of stuff to do, but it all seems very manageable right now. RSVPs are starting to come in, which is so exciting!!!! And I can’t wait for my first dress fitting in 2 weeks!

@cant.wait.to.be.mrs.d: Wow, you have a lot of DIY to do, but it all looke amazing.
I am trying to speed things up. bought all the material now for the guys vests and for fi’s suit and vest. Just need to get blue shirt and dress pants for my older son. I reserved the ceremony venue but going this weekend with fi so he can see it and pay the deposit… after that we can get the invitations done and mailed out.
Reserved the date for the transportation and will go in next weekend to look at the different kinds they have and pay a deposit. Think I found officiant. Need to make an appointment with her and square away all the details.
And I sent invites for my younger son’s 4th birthday. I am exhausted!

We didn’t really get much done in August. We had a few set backs plus we were busy getting our children ready to go back to school. Fiance had to get his money back from one tux shop that assured us that we would be receiving free wedding invitations if we went with them… they lied. We did manage to get MOST of the Save-The-Date Cards out…. still a few left. Fiance and I finally got the gift registry completed.. I’m still adding a few things on there. My mother and I TRIED working on the bridal shower invitations the last week of Aug so we could pass them out when family members came down for labor day but there was an issue with her printer that is not allowing us to print on the invitations… BUT we have to get all these issues resolved and taken care of by the end of this month… I am so ready for the day to be here… Is it supposed to be this stressful as the day draws near?

Omg I know right! August feels like it just flew by. In the last week I feel like I got a lot accomplished. Here is what I checked off over the last month:
- Bought FH suit from JCrew and he looks gooood haha
- Bought and painted the guestbook wedding platter
- Purchased the Mason Jar favors we’re using along with the fun striped straws to go in them
- Decided on my girls gifts
- Had my hair trial and booked hair stylist
- Met with DJ and finalized music
Still have a few DIY projects left
- Burlap cones
- Seating baord
- Drink list
- Welcome sign
Ugh will I actually finish everything??? Starting to really feel the crunch now with less than 2 months to go!
