kansas_nurse: October 3 here … Save-The-Date Cards out when I am not lazy and get to the post box. FI’s job is to contact the florist to set up an appointment and to find a DJ. We are just in the midst of choosing a time to get our engagement photos done and going through invitation proofs to approve. Wwe also need to go to the food tasting. My dress is supposed to come in next month so I’ll have my first fitting then, probably. Oh and find lanterns for the bridesmaids to carry. Obviously get the wedding license too. Also need to purchase gifts for sisters/parents/groomsment. Bridesmaid or Best Man gifts already purchased.

October 12th!!! I feel like I am ahead on some things and behind on others. No officiant yet, or weddings rings bought. STD’s went out, dress bought. No grooms wear picked yet, just picked my Maid/Matron of Honor dress.

Honestly, our wedding is pretty laid back, no dj, only one attendant on each side, etc. SO, I’m not too worried over it, just have to nail that officiant down!

kansas_nurse: I’m finally feeling like things are starting to come together. In the last two months alone my Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses came in, I ordered all of my thank you gifts, I made the majority of my invitations, bought the birdcage for my table plan, ordered the cake, bought the candles for my centrepieces, ordered the cars, had my hair trial and we picked the ceremony music and reading. Ooo and my gorgeous tree slice table numbers arrived! It’s been a crazy couple of months!!

Things left to do:

• Order Fiance and Groomsmen suits- appointment is booked for the end of may

• Finish the invitations- these are the bain of my life! I can’t wait for these to be done. Once we get the RSVPs we can start working on table plan, menu cards, place cards etc. I have bought all of the supplies for these.

• Fittings for me and my BMs

• Book the fun things for our NYC honeymoon like a show etc

• Need to do a makeup trial with MOH

I have the rings, dress, menu, day of jewellery, shoes, DJ, solo guitarist, photographer, honeymoon flights/accomodation, flowers, chair covers, fairy light curtain, registrar all sorted.

That can’t be all I have left to do…surely not…

Wow everyone else has gotten so much done lol I’ve sent out Save-The-Date Cards, bought the dress, and have my venue paid for. Luckily my mom is pretty much getting things done. We’re have a small wedding 65 people so invites, bridemaid dresses (I’m buying), flowers, and food are the only things left. We have a photographer as well though I really need to see what she’s about (my mom’s pick..) I’m actually pretty chill ๐Ÿ™‚

jenilynevette: Your list is stressing me out.. lol. Makes me feel like I’m behind!

Wedding Date 10/25/14 I got most of the major stuff finished early on. Then was kind of ‘on hold’ while I wrote my proffessional exams. I’m getting back into the swing of things and now it’s all the smaller details that I need to work on.

Done:

 • Booked Florist
 • Booked Transportation

 • Mailed Save-The-Date Cards
 • Wedding Website
 • Guest Book Purchased
 • Registered for Gifts at Two Stores

 • Favours Ordered
 • Cake Maker is booked for our date, just need to discuss details
 • E-Shoot Complete
 • Hair and Makeup Booked
 • Purchased Hair piece
 • Booked Photobooth

To do:

 • Purchase Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses (appt booked for May 18th)
 • Decide on Suits
 • Buy Wedding Bands
 • Plan Rehersal Dinner
 • Figure out the timeline
 • Purchase Invitations (I’ve selected which ones I want, and the wording, just waiting for a sale!)
 • Food tasting with caterer
 • Decide on Music
 • Figure out Candy Bar
 • Organize seating chart and display
 • I’ve found someone to make jewelry, just need to decide what to look like!
 • Steam & update mom’s veil.
 • Decide if we’re hiring a videographer.
 • Finalize Guest List… For the most part it’s done, but there are a few people I’m on the fence about inviting.
 • Book honeymoon ๐Ÿ˜€ Know what we want to do, but waiting for a deal.
 • Work on seating chart layout so I can plug people in when we have the RSVP’s.

When are you guys setting up second appointments/meetings to go over details?

My god, you are all making me feel quite unprepared. We are getting married on October 6th and so far have only booked our venue, photographer and videographer! That’s it! Oh wait, we have booked the bus to get our guests out to our venue as well. No dress, celebrant, rings, florist or the million other things your extensive lists have made me realise we still have left! Oh well, nothing like a good challenge! ๐Ÿ™‚

Wow you guys are super organised! I’m October 25th!

Done:

Bridesmaid dresses bought (yaaaaay!)

His suit sorted

My dress sorted – first fitting due in July

Venue booked

DJ booked

Florist booked

Church booked

Cake booked

Rings bought (just need to pay for the second half of his when we go pick them up)

My hairpiece bought

Makeup artist booked

Hairdresser booked

Honeymoon booked! Going to Berlin!

I’m presently in the process of completing the invitations – all the day ones have been constructed, and I’m hoping to get them sent out this month (we didn’t do Save-The-Date Cards, so…) with an RSVP date of 1st September. I’m holding off on the evening ones, because they’re basically all for local people, and as we’re expecting a lot of declines from FH’s Canadian family, I want to see if maybe I can invite some of them to the whole day. We’re basically chocked up with family haha! I’m hoping to get a few done and hand-delivered this weekend, but it’s beginning to look like that won’t happen, since my mum did a 180 on the advice she gave me regarding registries last week, and now she wants us to have one, so we have to put the info in with the invites. So now we have to set one up.

To-do:

– Menu tasting (scheduled for 19th)

– Register intent to marry (debacle, waiting for letter from church because local Council are being unreasonable. Thankfully church are being extra-reasonable to compensate)

– Book hair trial (hairdresser has suggested August, so will probably book makeup trial the same day)

– get wedding shoes and veil (shoes needed for fitting, but I’m being picky and indecisive)

– Meet with florist to discuss what we want.

– Finishing constructing the invitations would also be good.

klablo7: Oh, you have a groom who doesn’t understand there’s ALOT to do, too?

I have one of those.

He actually asked me to make a binder so he can look at it and help out with things. After I made it and he seen the to-do list [and the money we still need to pay things off], he kindly shut his pretty little face!
