I would not wear that to a wedding.

But then again, i’d probably not wear that at all ever. Not my style.

Forget the colour that dress is not appropriate for a wedding… that slit goes almost all the way. ESPECIALLY since this is family friends and you barely know the bride.

I think it is fine.  It is not bridal at all, and very springy.

It’s not white nor is it bridal so you’re fine.

If you have to ask, the answer is no.

And even if you didn’t have to ask about this particular dress, the answer is still no.

I think there’s a lot of harsh comments. I say go for it. It’s not like you’ll be in professional photos with the bride!

Whirlwind03 :  no true. It’s not a wedding dress! Who cares if it’s a tan color? As far as I’m aware the only “no-no” color was white.

FebruaryBride026 :  Haha, if you ask any of these ladies you aren’t allowed to wear..

White

Ivory

Pink

Blush

Nude

Anything full length

the same color as the bridesmaids

the same color as the bride’s future baby’s first pacifier…

You get the point. This is getting out of control.  Let people wear whatever they want to weddings.  If someone mistakes them for a bride, then they are just plain stupid.

hawkeyebride2be :  exactly!!! That’s exactly how it is now…people should just write on their invites :women should wear jeans and a blouse otherwise we might mistake you for being the bride or you will sorely offend the bride by wearing anything with a skirt…

That would be fine to me- it’s a beautiful dress & definitely not white.

hawkeyebride2be :  you forgot the wedding colours.  I kid you not one wedding i wasn’t allowed to wear: red, black, white, blue or brown.

Ettalie :  are you serious?? Omg how exhausting it must be for that bride to control what all 100-200 of her guests are going to wear!

I don’t know all the rules per se so am not really advising on those grounds, but for me I know that if I were questioning whether I should wear something in advance of an event, there is a fair chance that I would not feel as comfortable in it at the actual event.
