- Wedding: December 2012
Not upset, a bit numb.
Here’s the backstory:
So my friend, one of my two MOHs, was really really really into planning my bachelorette party to the point where she keeps trying to bounce ideas off me (I finally had her stop doing that after the other Maid/Matron of Honor stepped in).
She started planning it months ago… awesome.
She asks me to think of additional girlfriends to invite because she needs to fill up the “space”…. uhm, no, I won’t invite others who aren’t on the wedding guest list.
She is aware that her sister is due to give birth anytime soon… okay.
She starts to tell me that she is stressed out all the time… oh okay.
She starts to tell me she is broke… okay. I’m not looking for a big shindig, I expressed months ago that I would be totally okay if it was totally low key and with just my MOHs in attendance.
My cousin informed me that she is flying in for Bachelorette Weekend… ooh, I’m getting even more excited!
Today I texted both MOHs showing how excited I am for the 24 hour count down to bachelorette weekend (yes it starts tomorrow). MOH-she texted back “Yea!! My sister is in Labor & Delivery now” I pass on my congratulations and asked if she is sitting with her sister waiting for the delivery. She then tells me, no sister is on bedrest, it’s too early, her Bridal Party is high, and so on and on…. oh ok.
Now, I got an email not too long after the last text – she sent to me and the other Maid/Matron of Honor: “So my sister is probably.. no definitely.. having her baby tomorrow. So I won’t be coming this weekend. It is C-Section.”
Wow. No words can express how I feel. I’m not mad. But I’m not surprised either. I just don’t know what to say as I am under the impression that she pretty much planned the whole thing herself….
But anyway, I’m still excited that I get to see my cousins (coming from over 1,000 miles away), and my other Maid/Matron of Honor. I’m going to have a blast!
Ok thanks for hearing me out.
