We did all our centerpieces our selves and had a lot of fun with them. We gathered a bunch of antiques and arranged them into little vignettes, so every table was different.  Flowers were bulk flowers arranged by family and friends (specifically chosen for thier artistic talents) the morning of our wedding.

Even if you are looking to do something much more traditional here is my advice:

-you don’t necessarily need a ton of flowers for each centerpiece, some of ours only had a few single stems, and still looked beautiful.

-pay attention to proportions. You don’t want a centerpiece too small on the table it looks sad, or so big that it doesn’t leave room for plates glasses or blocks people from having a conversation.

-incorporate a couple of candles, like votives into each centerpiece. when the lights are dimmed the candles will reflect off the glass/metal/ or anything with a sheen in the centerpiece and will look beautiful

we kept ours simple with a wood slab, candles, mason jars, ribbon, and hydrangeas we ordered in bulk from sams club! Super simple and cheap!
