- Wedding: February 2013
First, the list of snafus that tried to prevent me from having a perfect wedding day!
1) 4 days before the wedding, I use the lotion in our hotel room and after some dancing BREAK OUT in enormous HIVES everywhere I was sweating, including my face. (My ears were so swollen it affected my hearing.) Luckily one of our guests had some Benadryl and after a couple days they went away.
2) My dress. ARGH. My seamstress couldn’t do enough without ruining the beading, so ultimately it was still too big. The torso was so long the BONING of the corset top bunched up and sometimes dropped so far you could see my panties! There are only a few pictures of my full look where the dress looks good but only because I’m holding the bouquet over the bunches. Sigh. Plus I forgot the thick strapless bra I’d bought especially for the dress, so I had to wear one with straps. At least you can barely notice in most shots–the straps look like they’re a part of the dress.
3) I forgot to pack something else, something MEGA-IMPORTANT: my bouquet! We were flying over the OCEAN when I remembered that the lovely real touch flower and brooch bouquet I purchased from one of our Bees was in its box in my bedroom. Cue tears. I was saved when we decided to have our ceremony in the gazebo overlooking the beach instead of on the beach; we switched the arch we had already paid for for a bouquet. (Which was really pretty, but I was still a little disappointed.)
Okay, that was the bad, here’s the good! (I ended up changing my headpiece of match my shoes… now I have a pretty princess crown to wear around the house, lol.)
I started crying almost instantly so I had to reach for his hand
The husband got so many compliments on his shoes! (More than me, hmph! ^_^)
He’s winking at me here
Signing the marriage certificate
So, do you come to this tree often?
Working out the logistics of eating cake with the wedding spoons
And a kiss! (PS, sand and high heels do not mix!)
It went by so fast, but even with the hassles (and a mini-meltdown 15 minutes before the ceremony over my dress) it was still perfect. ^_^
(EDIT: sorry about the lack of full paragraphs in the beginning–I tried, not sure what the issue is!)
