I’m hoping to keep it around $10k, although we aren’t paying for all of it ourselves. ETA: We’re having about 100 guests (not including the BP). We’re also having a Friday wedding, since our gorgeous reception venue’s minimum for Friday was HALF that of Saturday.

– Site fee, $140 for three hours at a local outdoor amphitheatre (comes with seating)
– Officiant fee, $300 with unlimited emails/meetings/phone calls, includes rehearsal (they actually walk you through everything) and awesome, totally customizable ceremony plan

– Dress and shoes, $750 (without alterations), although I should have either worn my grandma’s dress (which she made in college and offered to alter for me) or gone through a replica site. My Future Mother-In-Law offered to pay for my dress when I took her shopping with me, and we both really liked the dress I chose
– My jewelry, borrowing from my grandma
– Hair and makeup for me ??
– FI’s tux rental is free because he has 5 groomsmen
– Rings, hoping to get mine on sale (we have a hookup at the store), and his will be around $100
– I believe that we are purchasing ties and tie clips for all of the boys as their Groomsmen gifts, so that’ll be $150?
– Bridesmaid or Best Man gifts…I don’t know yet. I’m DIYing most of it.

– I believe we’re sitting at $6400 for the reception in total (room rental fee, catering, bar set-up, DJ, uplighting, tables, chairs, dinnerware, s’mores bar, staff, coordinator, etc.)
– Cupcakes, cousin is making them, although I’m not totally sure what (if anything) she’s going to charge me
– Decor…we don’t know a total cost yet. I’m saving all of my receipts. We’re using recycled wine bottles (I’ve been saving them and we’re getting some from other family members, too) and painting them with chalkboard paint, using candles and candleholders from the Dollar Store, stuff from Hobby Lobby (frequently 50% off), rolls of burlap, and several things we already had around the house

– Papergoods from VistaPrint, using $17 for $70 Groupons
– Photography from a fantastic lady who does beautiful work, although she’s only been shooting weddings for a couple of years. Her prices are fantastic, and we got a referral discount because a friend of mine did makeup for a wedding that she shot.
– Flowers will (probably) be silk, purchased online, as bouquets and boutonnieres only.
– I’m making a backdrop and possibly some other decor for the ceremony, so I don’t know the cost on that yet.
– We’ll need a sound system for the ceremony, so we’re hoping that a friend can hook us up because his dad owns a rental company that has sound systems and a backdrop that I want to use for the reception.

I’m about halfway through the planning at this point and I still don’t have everything figured out. We are trying to stay at $5000 out of pocket for us (his parents have helped a bit). I’ve got a bad habit of deciding that, if I can make something, I’ll just make it instead of spending money on it. So far, this is what it’s looking like:

My attire: $620. The budget for the veil is no more than $20 (it’s just tulle, I can make it if I have to). Shoes I’m going to keep under $40 (hoping less). Underclothes, no more than about $60 (I know they’re expensive and I can’t make them). I’ve made slips before, so I’ll probably do that again if I need to. About $10 for materials. I wasn’t as careful with this, as I didn’t have much time to shop. I’m happy with it though. Estimated total: about $750.

His attire: Est $200

Venue: $350. Ceremony and reception will happen at the same place. It’s a park lodge which is really cute. His parents paid that. They’re also talking about helping with the rentals (we need everything), which should come to about $350. Estimated total: about $700

Catering: Should come to a bit under $1500 for 80 people. A really good barbecue restaurant in town is catering. Should be great.

Tableware: Estimated at $300 max.

DJ: We are doing music ourselves. Currently, we have use of a sound system for free. Hoping that won’t change. Current budgeted amount: $0

Photographer: My fiance’s niece is doing pictures for her portfolio, and won’t take money for it. She is a photo student and takes great pictures. We’ll have other guests doing pics as well, and I like casual shots best, so we’re okay. Current budgeted amount: $0

Cake and desserts (favors): We are doing a cookie table which will double as favors. The tradition is to ask family members to make cookies (not pot luck style, but our moms and some aunts have volunteered). We’ll be making some as well as getting the favor bags. About $60 for supplies. Cake will be made by me. About $40 (I might need a new pan). Estimated total: about $100

Decor: He’s handling most of that, but our budget is about $200

Officiant/licence: $0 for officiant, I think the licence is at most $60

Gifts: We have two (possibly three) attendants. We’re budgeting $50 each ($100-$150 total est.). Parents will likely be about $50 per parent ($200 total est.) Estimated total: about $300

Stationery (invites, STD, programs): We designed everything. Had STDs (and will have invites) done on Vistaprint. Programs, we are printing ourselves. Estimated total $200

Flowers: Mom used to be a florist, and I like simple (i.e. I can make what I want). $75

Bar and beverage: One type of beer is being gifted to us by our friends who are brewers. We will be purchasing another type from them for about $60. His parents are handling the wine (we’re not wine snobs, and they don’t trust us to get good stuff), so I have no idea how much that is. We aren’t doing liquor. Non-alcoholics should be around $60. Estimated total: 120

Est. total so far ~$4620. We should be able to go under on some, but are prepared if we have to go over on others.
