This totally depends where you’re going to and what kind of resort you want to stay at.

I have stayed at very nice resorts in Mexico for $1200 with airfaire included, but if you want the ‘honeymoon’ option it may be a bit more but it might be around there.

You need to give more details! Where do you want to go, what time of year, what “class” or “star level”? Coach/business/first class air? Posh suite or casual economical hotel? All-inclusive resort? Stopovers? There are honeymoons for all budgets….

Ours: dc to Tokyo, first class

3 nights Tokyo Hilton (suite)

3 nights in another hotel TBD

Tokyo to Hong Kong, business class

2 Nights Intercontinental Tokyo (suite)

2 nights in another hotel, TBD

Then head home, Hong Kong to Beijing in Business Class, Beijing to DC in First

Now the airfare alone on this sucker would be around $14k but we’re using ~220k airline miles, so we just pay about $400 in taxes (totals for 2)

And the Tokyo Hilton we got on points at a crazy value, way lower than the points they usually charge. Rack rate for that room is around $600/night. The Intercontinental, we’re using a Buy One Get One certificate, so that works out to paying about $300/night (very good by HKG standards). We do need to pay 3 more nights in Tokyo and 2 in HKG, which are very expensive cities, but we’re looking at around $3k plus meals/activities/etc for a 10-day honeymoon, all in upgraded flights and hotels. I’m kinda proud of that. It’s a $20k vacation, ouch. Miles rock.

Where do you want to go? If you are looking for a beach type honeymoon, there are some that are less costly than others. You can go to the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, parts of Mexico, the Bahamas, etc. for reasonable rates. A cruise might also cost less than a typical honeymoon location if you shop around. It really depends on where you want to go.

If you want to know how much people are spending on theirs, we spent $5500 for 10 days of lodging and flights to the Greek islands (not all-inclusive). As another point of reference, we went to Turks and Caicos 2 years ago and stayed in an all-inclusive honeymoon resort for 7 days and spent $4500 with flights. When we went to Puerto Vallarta (Mexico) 4 years ago, we spent under $2000 for a week at an all-inclusive resort with flights. So it really depends on what you’re looking for.

We caught a luxury adults only all-inclusive in Mexico at the tail end of the swine flu scare for $750 each including airfare for 6 nights.  That was pretty clutch.

My best friend just booked Puerto Rico for $150/night at the hotel and $550 each for airfare.

Not sure what else is going on out there.

I would say just as a rough estimate $10-15 thousand…from a week to two weeks.

$4400: includes airfaire from So Cal to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

7 nights in all-inclusive resort in upgraded ocean view suite with two jacuzzis in the adult only section of the resort.

This doesn’t include excursions, we’re thinking another 500-800 for those but all food and drinks are included.

We did St. Croix at a beachfront resort, 200 per night for the room, 535 each for airfare from DC, about 80-125 each day for food with a few drinks. All in all we spent a bit more than 2000 for 4 days, a night in Miami on each side of the trip.

We had a honeymoon registry that helped defray the cost of meals and sailing/snorkeling trips.

We doing 9 nights at an all-inclusive in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico – all inclusive, 5 star resort, ocean view room – for 4000 including our flights there.  Any excursions we decide to do would be extra but considering we budgeted 5000 for our honeymoon, we have some money to play with for that.

$2030 for 6 nights at an adults-only all-inclusive in Punta Cana, including nonstop airfare on JetBlue and private transfers to and from the airport in DR.  I found ours on CheapCarribean.com – definitely check it out!  You might want to look at destinations closer to the west coast though, like Puerto Vallarta or that area.

7 nights in Belize for $4500 for everything. We are staying at an all inclusive jungle resort for 4 nights which is taking up the majority of the bill at $2500. The other 3 nights we are staying at a B&B on the beach for $90 a night. I snagged our flights for about $550 each by signing up for flight alerts on Yapta.com and buying them as soon as the price dropped.
