Has anyone gone to Oktoberfest? I am planning a last minute get away as a surprise for my Fiance. I know it is ideal to plan early, but it is a little late for that. I already have the flights and hotel. Anyone have any suggestions?

I lived in Munich. Oktoberfest is awesome, but don’t miss out on the rest of the city! It is really an amazing place. The trams can take you everywhere, so don’t bother renting a car. You’ll want to go early to get into the beer tents, they fill up fast. Order a few Mas (or Radlers, which is beer and lemonade, yum!) and listen to the Germans sing John Denver songs! There is plenty to do outside of the tents, it is sort of like a state fair or amusement park. There are rides and food stands.
In the city, make sure you take plenty of time to walk around. Go to the English Garden and the Deutsch museum. How long do you think you’ll stay for? Do you know what part of the city you’ll be in?

My Fiance is extra busy at work so we are only able to go for three full days(the second weekend Sept 25-28). I wish we had more time, but we have been trying to get to Munich for a few years now, and I feel like if I don’t make it happen now it never will.
I am staying at the Sheraton Westpark. I picked that hotel only because of the location. I would like to explore the city a bit without taking too much time away from beer drinking so any suggestions would be great. The Mas sounds delicious!
