The SAME thing happened to me after my honeymoon. I did SO good eating well/exercising before we got married. I let myself indulge during our Honeymoon, came home and lost ALL motivation. It’s hard to stick with something once you let yourself get off track.

Now like you said TODAY IS THE DAY. Just do it! Plan some healthy meals for the week, go food shopping, and start with some light exercise. I also recommend using  a calorie counting website like my fitness pal to help you stay within your goal calories. (Also on that website, the more you work out, the more calories you get for the day) πŸ˜›

You can do it!!

I gained a lot after the wedding as well.  Getting married, moving and adjusting to a new place didn’t really help me stay in shape.  I tried going to classes but the only that that really kicked my butt was joining a boot camp for the past year.  I have lost about 10 pounds from it!

I had completely given up on working out and had no motivation to eat better. I was also on new anxiety medication which made me have awful cravings late at night so we had many late night trips to waffle house. I was at my heaviest weight ever and my new fat pants were tight. I finally gave in and got a personal trainer and have since lost 22lbs and am down 2 pants sizes. It took that little kick in the butt to get myself back on track and now I feel incredible. I def cheat on what I am supposed to be eating but I still feel great and workout a ton so I reward myself for all of the hard work. If you can, take “before” pics so you can see yourself now and that will be good mitivation!

one thing that has helped me with food is to pre-cook lots of chicken on the weekend, throw it in a baggie and freeze it so when I am hungry, I grab some chicken and warm it up rather than something unhealthy

I agree with @KLloyd1the best way for me to stay on track was to plan ahead. Cook a bunch of chicken breasts or another type of lean meat and portion it out for lunches during the week, along with salad or veggies. Then you won’t be hitting the drive thru or relying on frozen meals like I was up until a few weeks ago.

It’s kind of a pain to spend time cooking and preparing on weekends (I spend at least an hour chopping different veggies and cooking meats and putting them in baggies on Sunday), not to mention there is nothing exciting about my lunches during the week, but it helps me from going carb crazy at work.

I’m not married yet, but I fell off the wagon dieting lately. I am getting back on track this week, I cooked a ton of healthy food yesterday that will hopefully help me eat well even when I am exhausted after work this week. I also need to be better about tracking my food on WW, I haven’t been bothering for the past week or 2. Also need to start exercising again, gah!

@Evie19:  Girl, I lost 15 pounds for my wedding back in September, and have gained back 9, just like you! I just threw myself back on a treadmill last week, and have been struggling to finding my routine.  I am now loving your thread, and am going to try what you’re trying! πŸ™‚

@Evie19:  I totally just had a burger last night! *cries*  Okay, I shall make today my day! I think I should just go back to minimizing soda in my diet…

@Evie19:  Yah I definitely do.  Before the wedding, I was giving myself one soda a month! Now I think I’ll go with one a week…I find that it’s really hard now because Darling Husband drinks soda all the time!  But I’ll start there and see where it takes me…more water, more water! πŸ™‚
