Okay, I have been COMPLETELY OCD over centerpieces.. I have googled for days on end trying to find something I LOVE.. There are just SO MANY things I like..
Here is a quick summary of me and future hubby… Together 10 years, 2 kids ( 8 & 6) he is divorced with 3 kids ( 22, 20 & 18) So I have never been married, and would like something a little formal…NOTHING over the top though…
I bought 18 cup cake stands.. black holds 13… Or have them by the Small wedding cake? ( thinking red velvet cupcakes with the white frosting with a chocolate wedge and raspberry…
I can’t have candles because of my folks ( they have a hard time breathing even with unscented) and flowers well, same thing..Although I could do fake/silk..
But do I do a fruit /cheese basket at the tables for the centerpieces? since I am doing an Old World theme??
My colors are burgundy, black and gold
Here is a pic of what I might do without the cupcakes…

cupcakes sounds good, good color combination! 🙂
about centerpice ideas for your theme, maybe fruit and chesse will be a good option for the tables, but you might get something else, that will stay in the table as centerpiece for the all reception.
topiary whith silk flowers are a good idea, cheaper and there is lots of kinds and colors of flowers and vases at the dollar store or craft stores.
glass vases fill with little rocks and flowers?
manzanita branches (dried tree) with hanging cristals ? that looks beautidul, you can get pretty vases and stick the manzanita dried branches and hang crystals, or wathever you want.

sorry-I am unable to view your pic, so this may not be relevant
you could combine flowers or leaves and fruit in a low bowl like this:
stack up old books- particularly ones with brown covers that look like leather
place a bottle of wine next to it
Use a terra cotta colored container. Select a squat, shallow artisan bowl with a rolled rim. Look for one with minimal detail such as an embossed rosette. Lay the bowl on a table runner with a palette of warm coppers, gold and Tuscan red. Coordinate burnt orange Gerbera daisies at the center with miniature sunflowers near the outside rim. (You can use silk flowers)Add a touch of silk grape vines to hang over the rimmed edge.
use a footed vase with lemons-maybe twirl some grapevine around the bottom of the vase
depending on how many tables you have and your ability to find them, old globes make a great centerpiece

Sounds wonderful with the fruit. You could even do “faux” fruit and have a cheese and fruit table or served fruit? I was thinking old world type gold leafed urns and amber glass vases? Maybe use burgundy velveteen throws for table overlays? and black table numbers or favors? Oh-wine bottles with table numbers!! I have just the paper too. I will try to do a mock-up for you tomorrow. How big will your wedding be?

Hi, I think the lemons in a rustic looking compote is a great idea. If you wanted to do candlelight you could get the flameless pillar candles and use wine bottles as you table #s. You could print the table # on gold parchment paper from your craft store, and then glue it to the wine bottles. Or you could also use beer pilsner type glasses and put breadsticks in them and then have little dishes of olive oil, and some olives, cheese and crackers, and fruits -especially different types of grapes on some plates. You can get black stoneware plates from http://www.dollartree.com Thrift stores maybe great places to find old-world compote dishes. You could even look at Home Depot or Lowes for terracotta items to use. Your tables won’t have to be all matchy matchy. You could do an old globe on one, wrought iron candleholders with flameless pillar candle on another, old books and silk flowers on another. Just go with the colors and the theme, and it will all tie together. I used some things I had around the house to make a “mock up” of sorts. I think I was talking about burgundy velveteen-but the other fabric I was actually thinking of was chenille throws. If you need information on where you can get low cost flameless pillars PM me for a resource. Good luck! 🙂

Thank you so much for the great ideas… You girls are FANTASTIC!!!
I like the silk flowers and feathers.. and how cute would wine bottle table numbers be!!!! I am super excited I have found on Craigslist..4 foot tall black wrought iron candelabras ( 8 of them)
We are having about 100 people.. So I am going to do half tall and half low centerpieces. I am going to dress up the candelabras with floral and crystals..
and then make the wooden boxes ( antique look).with flowers and feathers.
My flowers I have found at Hobby Lobby, which they usually have sales 50% off..
Flameless candles Dollar Store!!!
I have been lucky in great finds, and deals seeing our budget is super tight!!!
thank you for the great suggestions!!!

A thought I had was to place a bunch of curly willow branches into a vase, fill the vase with old wine corks (saved by friends and family), have faux grapes and fake votives hanging from the branches….?
