I interested in hearing opinions form older brides, friends of older brides, or from parents of older brides as to whether the parents paid for their first wedding. In my case I will be having my first wedding at 48 (and I do not have any children but did have one long term relationship previously). My parents did pay for very nice weddings for my sisters when they married in their 20s. My parents financial situation has not really changed since then and they do have the resources.
The subject hasn’t come up yet with my parents. Should I address it?? Wait for them to address it?? If I thought it would put them in a bad financial position I wouldn’t even consider it. But on the other hand shouldn’t I deserve my day even though it’s much later in life?
Any constructive ettiquite tips or thoughts welcome.
