What do you all think of an olive & teal color scheme for my January wedding?
Notes: I own the clutch and loooooooove it. It’s one of my inspirations. The dress is my dress – Alfred Angelo 1148 in diamond white. The ties would not be in those colors. They’re custom silk screen ties. I’m thinking olive-y ties with lighter olive-y silk screening on them – just a slightly lighter color – so that the design is more subtle (FH would have ivory on ivory). Brideswomen in olive-y dresses…with the teal color pashminas. for the centerpiece – i would do white flowers and nix the feathers on the vase.
Our venue is very neutrally colored – lots of ivory – our linens will also be ivory. The event will be at night – and the venue has a harbor view so it will be dark, with a little bit of skyline light.
Questions – too much peacock? Not enough? I plan on doing a lot of votive candles too. Just worried that we’ll either end up on peacock overload or that we won’t have enough punch of color to add to the ivory.
Also, I don’t have a flower girl – everyone I know has boys! I’m having 2 little ringbearers, but I’m considering having one hold the rings and the other scatter peacock feathers down the aisle. I don’t want him to be a flower boy – but I want something scattered on the aisle! Thoughts?
Looking forward to feedback! Thanks!

The colors are absolutely gorgeous. I think the ivory calms the blues down and the blues will make the ivory look very crisp. Definitely not too much peacock – what a great idea!

When I read the post title I went uhhh olive & teal… YUCK! I was skeptical.. but now I’m eating my words! I loooooove the inspiration board you posted. Wowza… it’s stunning. The peacock feathers tie it in very nicely!
I definitely don’t think its peacock overload! What an original classy touch. I’ve never seen anything like it before… 🙂 If you’re worried about it being too bland or not enough punch of color b/c of the neutral venue– you could consider changing your centerpiece flowers to something in a berry hue!
Beautiful ideas Miss Meepsie!

@ all you bees – Thanks SO much for the positive feedback! I’m so happy to get feedback of any kind, but especially good feedback!
@ irmango Small world! I think I’m going to go with fresh flowers as opposed to clay, but am still undecided as not much is in season in NYC in January. Would love to hear your experience with your bouquet.
@ RecessionistaBride That’s the same reaction everyone has when I just tell them the colors. You really have to see it. Since I’m tired of puke faces, I just say "peacock colors" now. 🙂
@ Grey56 The dress is Alfred Angelo #1148. That’s the one I just bought! It’s pretty much a knockoff of Augusta Jones’ Tia Gown. But the AAngelo has a corset back, and I love it! 🙂
@ ejs4y8 The clutch is by the wonderfully talented Red Ruby Rose on Etsy.
**If anyone has any other ideas that could fit in with my color scheme/peacock theme, I’d looooooove to know!
