Sometimes they’re really pretty, and sometimes they look like vaginas.  Its hit or miss.

i LOVE ombre anything so i say go for it! Not Wedding Related but we recently held my DD’s first birthday and had a cake covered in rosettes that were ombre and it was gorgeous 🙂

I wanted one so badly! I did a purple one do r my bridal shower instead. You should definitely go for it!

Love it!  With you OP-smooth buttercream would be better!  I’m not of fan of this style of cake with the layered flaps.

soontobemrsKB92615:  I had my cake maker test a little 6″ cake with the frosting and she did a great job. I’m having an aqua ombre cake much as you describe, like it’s been put on with a trowel. I am topping mine with sunflowers and a gold cursive “love” cake topper.

Go for it! But have your cake baker make you a tester cake with the ombre to make sure they can do it right because my friend asked for ombre and got just solid pink.

I kind of like the texture it makes the cake look like it’s wrapped in ribbon.

Red and yellow will be great but I’m not a fan of the red and white cake in the picture. It looks like an upside down feminine hygiene product. A used one.
