I am so excited!!!
After a few months of waiting torture since I last emailed any pics of rings to my SO, (he’s hinted at *it* being this summer) I’ve been searching and researching and obsessing over the Morganite gemstone. I actually have been lurking on here quite a while, but no posts yet… I saw someone posted a pic of theirs, and I was in love with it! Pink is my favorite color, and everyone that knows me, knows that I am ALL about the pink.
My first ring choices were diamond solitares- either a emerald cut or a radiant cut.. but still- I wasn’t over the moon in love with those, I was simply over the moon at any diamond that would make me officiallly engaged to my love.
So, today, I sent him links to a few morganite rings I’ve been staring at—at the risk of starting another “OMG cant you just be happy waiting” argument. I asked what he thought, and he said “They are pretty. but it’s not a diamond”.
I started telling him how much I loved it, etc.. and his concern is not only that he will look like he “cheaped out” (even though the diamonds we originally looked at online were a modest $1000) and also that the ring will not stand the test of time and wear.
I sent him an article on morganite. and then I told him I wanted to see it on my hand, just to be sure.
and then — he suggested we go tonight after work to a jewelry store and look!!!!
Now, I just have to find a chain jewelers that might have some to look at in person— Any suggestions???
