So long story short… I feel like death.
I have been up since YESTERDAY at 8 am. I think I’ve caught a stomach bug. Without going into too much detail, I have been in the bathroom almost the whole time. I haven’t thrown up, but I am about to cry because I’m so desperate for some rest. My stomach aches and it just goes downhill from there.
I’m pretty sure I also have a fever and can’t eat anything. I am miserable… At this point I would rather face my wisdom teeth surgery than this.
I am also having cramps from my period which is just complicating things further.
Is there anything I can do Bees to help with this stomach ache? I’ve been taking Pepto, and it’s a little better but not good enough where I can sleep for more than a few minutes at a time.
Make this Bee feel better… Please!

7-up and saltines? That combo has always helped me with my stomach.

Make sure you drink lots and lots of water!! It’s really easy to get dehydrated when you are sick like that.
If it’s really bad and has persisted over two days, you may want to see a doctor.

Yes, lots of water if you think you can keep liquids down. Peppermint tea helps a lot for me too. Just the tea, no sugar or anything. Feel better soon!

I’d go with the Dr. route. You don’t say if you’re having BM’s as well. I assume you are? Or if it’s just pain. But dehydration is probably not helping you either way, and if it’s just intense pain you should probably get checked out.

@PrairieGirl: Right now we are at thirty hours since it started… Fiance says I should go to the doctor, but I think at this point they will tell me to just stay home and eat crackers.
@CruiseWedding2010: I don’t have any at home, and Fiance is at work. I have Gatorade and apple sauce though.
@lola2011: I am, but I thought that might be a little too Too Much Information.

@ama0219: avoid the applesauce – fruit just makes things pass through you more quickly. Can you do a little dry toast?
ETA: Do you know anyone who has had a stomach virus lately? Is it possible this is food poisoning or something else? I agree with others that the doctor is probably a good idea – especially if it hasn’t lessened in 30 hours. I know this is embarrassing, but if necessary, consider wearing an adult diaper (or one of those overnight maxi pads that cover half your rear end) for the car ride. It’s icky, but less icky than poo on the car seats.

I felt like this after eating oysters and my whole group contracted norovirus! I was throwing up too. BUt I’m going to go with the PPs and say water and crackers/toast if you can keep it down. Just keep eating bland things!!
It’s miserable and I hope you feel better. If you can, get yourself to a doctor if it’s been over 30 hours now!

@ddw: I don’t have bread at the apartment, and Fiance is at work. Fiance told me if I wasn’t better by noon he was coming home and taking me to the doctor.
I haven’t heard about anyone having a stomach bug around me lately, but I do work in retail and go to college so anything is possible. The last thing I ate, Fiance ate too, and he is fine so I don’t think it’s food poisoning.

So sorry, this sounds miserable. Pepto doesn’t help me with the runs, but Immodium does. Stay hydrated.

I usually end up in the shower if I can in that case, laying down in the tub. The warm water helps relax the abdominal cramping caused by both the bug and the period, and if things come back up (sorry if that’s gross) it can pretty much just rinse away.
It might ot be smoething you caught, but a food allergy or food poisoning, you could be senstive to something your Fiance is not, and it might not even be the very last thing you ate, as it takes a while for things to travel that far into the gastrointestinal tract – if you don’t feel better soon, I think the docotr migh be your best bet.
