That is super crappy!  But I do know how much people love NCAA March Madness – it runs my schedule in March and owns my fiance’s life.  It will all come together, I promise!

I love March Madness way more than NFL, NBA or PGA.  And that guy won’t get fired because they sold out anyway, at probably higher rates than your group would paid, and his job is to sell rooms. Sorry.

“I’m from LA/NYC, sports are not that important.” AHEM.

I do agree that the amount of attention given to college sports is ridiculous.  Last time I checked, college was about getting an education.

Anyhoo…will your venue allow you to change the weekend?  Would you be able to do the 13th or the 20th of April?

What about having it mid or the end of March (before the final 4) if your venue lets you change the date? I don’t know when the hotels will be booked, since I can’t stand watching basketball… especially college bball. lol

@atlbride2013:  February? too early? I mean it is the south, so it won’t really be cold. Better than Summer in ATL. lol

@atlbride2013: LA/NYC; sports are not that important? What? The LAKERS? The Yankees? Sports are huge in those places! But I feel your pain and that really bites! He probably was encouraged to not block all those rooms during that time because they know a huge sports event will be in town and will get more money as @the boss of you: pointed out. There has got to be a way for you to work things out. Is your venue in Midtown? Maybe look outside of the city like in the surrounding suburbs?
