Ask your other vendors.  They will have seen certain ones in action and should be a great resource for giving you honest opinions.

If you want to do it real quick, ask both of them to send you a top ten list of songs they like to use to get a party started. Then listen to gauge whether you have similar tastes! That is what I would do 🙂

I was able to view video of the DJ. The most important things are experience and personality, because a good DJ will play the type of music you like and the crowd responds too, so I wouldn’t judge based on things like that he played the Chicken Dance in one video or only rap music. But if the guy/girl has a bad personality and cannot connect with the guests, you’ll be screwed.

Omg I was having this EXACT dilemma like a month ago.  I ended up emailing them all (as I HATE phonecalls) and I could immediately cut two of the four off the list when they were unresponsive and/or unhelpful.  I met with the other two and went with the one that I got a great vibe from in terms of personality, professionalism, and skills.
