I won’t lie, I’ve been checking out this site in secret for like a year and a half…that along with about a dozen other wedding sites that I have been compulsivley browsing every since me and my guy moved in together…
…but I don’t have to hide anymore because WE JUST GOT ENGAGED!!! Well it was last month but i’m shifting from the lovey-dovey-i’m gonna-spend-the-rest-of-my-life-with-him phase to the yay-I-get-to-plan-my-wedding!!! phase.
We both want a long engagement, but honestly I can not wait to start planning. Anyone else start planning even though they don’t have a date set yet?

How exciting! Congratulations! We’ve picked two dates out…but haven’t set one yet and are trying to start planning.

Congrats! There are a lot of girls on here who aren’t engaged so you didn’t have to feel weird for being around here before.

We are planning without a date – I have my dress, flowers, bridesmaids, and I know where we want it now we are going to go to the place and find out what dates they have for next summer (we are getting married on a weekday so we should be fine)! Good luck and have fun with the planning! Just remember depending on where you are venues book up quickly especially for Saturdays (18-24 months in advance!!)

Congradulations! We will have been engaged about 2 and a half years by the time we get married and I have had most of it done for almost six months.

First of all, Congrats!
Second of all, it’s quite normal to plan your wedding without the date set. I think it can become a little obsessive, so be careful. Your tastes could change, the plans may change, your favorite colors and decor ideas could change. But, if you know what you want, go for it. There are a lot of details you can figure out plenty in advance. Be willing to flex with the plans and HAVE A BLAST!!
