Don’t cry, I understand how attached we are to our rings but at the end of the day, it’s just a thing….I wouldn’t be so quick to blame the termite guy for stealing it, just because he was in your house doesn’t mean he’s a thief…and if I were a claims adjuster and I saw that the insurance on a 15k ring had just been bought the day before it disappears, well, I might balk at that too…better have your invoices and ducks in a row, because your company is going to want proof that you had coverage in place before it vanished….but, if that’s what happened, that’s what happened, crying and being upset isn’t going to change anything, so turn in the claim and see what you get.

I’m sure in the end it will all work out, I’m sorry you are so upset.

That’s awful! Best of luck finding it. Hopefully it was not stolen.

Did it maybe fall behind the mircowave? Or did your other child  maybe think it was a toy and run off with it? (My son thinks my rings are his, so don’t discount it. lol)

Sorry this happened. I hope it turns up!

First off deep breath…. Now try to clear you head and retrace all your steps. Maybe you thought you put it there. Search everywhere with a fine tooth comb!! You have insurance so that’s good but just look over you policy…. Does it cover theft?

I would just take a step back, take a deep breath or few, then retrace your steps. I have lost things countless numbers of time and realized that they were right in front of me! Also, I think as long as you have all the paperwork in order for an insurance claim they should be able to work with you if need be. I don’t think it should matter how recently you got the insurance, though you may want to check with them make sure they don’t have a wait period or something. But I think if you take a breather and really try and retrace your steps, you may find your ring sooner then later. Best of luck to you and I hope that you will find it! 🙂

I’m so sorry — I am in your shoes too and posted about it not too long ago.  Woke up this morning and my ring is not where I thought I put it last night.  The other bees gave great advice … try to calm down first and seriously look around before jumping to conclusions about what happened.  Apparently these rings of ours can turn up in some very bizarre places that we would never think of.

@ddsfam:  Not yet.  I had to leave for work right when I noticed so I only looked around for like 5 minutes … I am leaving work a little early today to go home and really look around.

Please dont be too hard on yourself for misplacing it… you have been very careful with it for 7 years.  Best of luck to you and I hope it turns up one way or another.

Have you made a list of all of the local pawnshops to go check with them? If you have insurance, I’m assuming you have enough documentation to prove that the ring was yours if it turns up.

@ddsfam:  I’m so sorry you are going through this!! I’ve been there too…..

I Went into a department store on a saturday afternoon just before closing  to try find a dress for my engagement party….I was in a changeroom and took my ring off and placed it on a self so I would pull the fabric on the dress with my ring. Long story short..left wth the dress and no ring. It was 25 minutes after the store closed and I was on my way home when i realised what I did. I had no way to get in contact with anyone until monday as stores don’t open on sundays in my state. I was at the store 2hrs before opening on monday morning praying that I was the last person in the changeroom on Satrday and nobody had a chance to flog it. I saw the cleaner vacuming  and she was still there at the openning time. I asked the sales staff and then proceeded to ask the cleaner….she played dumb for a minute or so until she saw how distressed I was. She then used her lack of english as a reason for not understanding the word engagement ring. She then pulled it out of her pocket and told me she was going to hand it in to centre management. i’m sure she would of kept it if I hadn’t apppealed to her sensabilites and had been there to ask her. thank god she decided to be honest and return it to me…i’m forever thankful!!!

My point is maybe try to get in contact with the pest control guy who you think stole it and try appeal to his sensabilities. Tell him how your husband and you worked 7yrs to save up for it or even tell him it was your dead nanna’s if you have to! tell him you won’t report him to his workplace or the cops. Just ask how he would feel if he worked soo hard for something and it was stolen. its at least worth a try….you never know you might end up lucky like me!!

If you cant get him back at yours ring the company and book him to visit someone elses house as a decoy. Ask for him by name and tell the company that he sprayed your old home a while ago and you really liked his level of customer service etc…

hope you can get it back!!
