Send out the ones your family and his family.  Order additional print your own invites get them printed ASAP, and then send out the ones for your friends (yours and his), put out the word (to a few blabby friends) that there was a slight issue with the printer but the invites will be going out soon.

First, take a deep breath—everything is fixable.    First, you thought 75 guests, so 80 invites would be enough—-did you do your math right?  Even if you have 100 guests, that should only need about 65 or so invites, since many invitations are for more than one person.  If you do need more, two suggestions, both fairly easy:

 1.  Go get some more invites.  They don’t have to match the first batch—really! Target actually has some really nice ones. While many of your guests know each other, it is unlikely that they will be comparing invitations!  Most will hit the recycle bin after they write it on the calendar.  If anyone asks, say it was intentional—they’ll think you’re hip and setting a new trend by sending out multiple fabulous invitations.  Seriously.

2.  If that just doesn’t work for you, and your invites don’t have embossing or anything, take one of your current invitations to a professional print shop–Kinko’s might work, but I’d look for a place that does more business-type printing.  Have them make a high quality scan of the finished product and print it.

Yup! It’s ok if they aren’t all the same. Nobody’s really going to notice that much. And if they do, just tell them there was a printing error and you needed more at the last-minute. Don’t stress!

If your wedding is not till August 7th, don’t worry, you’re not too late!  I would say just finish up with the ones you currently have, and send those, but head out this weekend and buy another pretty set.  It really doesn’t matter if everyone gets the same exact style invitation– call it mix and match!  🙂

Also, just making sure– did your FI’s list have 50 names on it (with some couples thrown in, so you’d need less invites), or does it actually need 50 individual invites?

Yikes is right!  Well, take some comfort in the fact that not 100% of the people are going to be able to come.  🙂
