tatjanafaith: I am waiting for an appointment to become available at the Vancouver consulate so I am in the interview stage. We started the Petition in July.

In response to your previous message to lilsweetie, the reason why she had to go to the Montreal consulate is because she was doing the CR1 Visa, known as the spousal visa, and the Montreal Consulate is the only Consulate in Canada that processes those visas. It’s for the K1 visa that they split the country into two halves and send the Western applicants to Vancouver and the Eastern applicants to Montreal.

tatjanafaith: Yay! Congrats!

My Darling Husband and I went the CR1 route instead of the K1 route, so slightly different, but I totally feel your pain/relief to finally have it done!

I just moved to the states a few weeks ago and am finally living with my husband 😀 It’s rad!

tatjanafaith: interesting! I guess I’m not alone! Lol. It took you 11 months? Do you know if it’s the same for those who applied for an I-130 (spousal visa)? My husband applied last August, then by October NVC sent us a welcome letter asking for our documents. We actually didn’t see this e-mail until December because it ended up in my husband’s junk mail! And we didn’t know that there’s another place that does this visa thing (NVC) other than USCIS. Now they’re reviewing our documents, and from what I heard will take 2 months to review, and if everything is correct, they should start scheduling me for an interview and do my health check.

congrats btw! Couldn’t be happier for anyone who’s in the same situation!
